I come to you with a most humbled and distraught heart my brothers and sisters. My dear ex and I split after almost two years together (we’ve known each other since 2013 so we were basically friends before we dated). The breakup was mutual yet devastating for both of us. I cannot remember the last time she cried let alone hearing myself cry so much. This was exactly a month and 1 day ago. We haven’t talked since because we need to give each other some space. The night of the breakup both expressed what we mean to each other how much we love and care for each other and how such close friends we are. We shared countless memories and I loved her family and enjoyed their company as they did mine. She also said how she doesn’t wish to lose me.

I know for a fact that my arrogance and pride and at times lack of motivation for my personal goals contributed to the breakup and it’s been eating me on and off since we split. Today I’ve felt really bad and after work I went to a secluded beach by my house and prayed verbally and loudly almost to tears begging God to uplift me and change me. I prayed that my ex and I remain in each other’s lives with a small glimmer of hope that sometime, somehow and somewhere down the road we can pick up where we left off when we both get our lives together. I’m not clinging onto it but a piece of my heart is hopeful. I prayed the rosary afterwards for those intentions and I plan on continuing to increase my rosaries frequently to daily in hopes God can look into my heart and mercifully answer my prayers. I believe in the power of the Rosary and the promises of the Rosary through Our Lady. I truly want to contact my ex because I know she’s been thinking of me but I want to wait for the right time but also I’m afraid she’ll get the wrong impression by me remaining off the radar for too long.

Please my friends, pray for me and my ex that we may somehow work things out in the future but nevertheless remain close. I can’t imagine my life without her company after everything we’ve both been through. God bless you and yours.:signofcross:

Prayer to the Blessed Mother

Holy Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful, strengthen the fearful,
give aid to all needing help or healing,
assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering,
be with those needing peace, console the lonely,
comfort the lost or hopeless, guard the unborn,
pray for those who are dying or who have died,
soften those with hardened hearts,
enlighten those who do not yet see truth,
help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go,
show us the way to do the right thing,
protect those who are in danger, and guide us from every evil;
may all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

†

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Praying for both of you…
*O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity.
O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother. *
  • O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power.
O show us that you are our Mother.*
  • O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands.
Amen*.

I am going through a similar ordeal with my girlfriend of 7 years. I know how haunting and powerful memories are, how you feel a part of you is dead, forever.
I posted my situation on this site last week, and as I suspected, almost all the replies I got said that it was for the best that the relationship would end, etc. I disagree with almost all the replies I received.
Although it MIGHT be true that ending a relationship might be for the best, there are things that YOU can do. Look, God did not make you to be a robot, and just sit back.
I know each situation is different, and no one can fully describe what they had going on in their relationship, but here are a few resources, hope they help you as much as they are helping me.

Jesus, I offer this intention to Your most Sacred Heart

Our father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary full of grace
The Lord is with you
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus
Holy Mary mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Now and in the hour of our death
Amen.

Eternal Father in whom mercy is endless
And treasury of compassion inexhaustible
Look kindly upon us and increase your mercy in us
so that in difficult moments
we may not despair
nor become despondent
but with great confidence
submit ourselves to Your holy will
Which is love and mercy itself.
Amen.
