I also want to use this opportunity to make an update on my progress so far.
The situation so far is I have recently had a vascular MRI scan of my brain to look for any problems there. The results of that are still pending. I am not sure exactly when I will get those as they go back to my consultant and I don’t yet have an appointment to see him.
In other developments, I am also undergoing a procedure for monitoring the pressure inside of my head. This is called intracranial pressure monitoring.
For the pressure monitoring they will need to make a small hole in my head to implant the monitoring device which will be left in for 24-48hrs and then removed.
From monitoring the pressure they can get an idea whether I am getting any abnormal pressures inside the brain which might be causing my symptoms.
If there is any abnormally high pressure they have said they might be able to treat this with a stent or shunt (which I think is why they wanted a vascular MRI before the pressure monitoring to look at the veins in the brain to help them decide).
Right now I do not know what the outcome will be, but I hope and pray that I will be safe from the pressure monitoring procedure and that there will be no complications, and that through these investigations my doctors will have the answers to help treat and heal me.
