Please pray for me. I’ve put myself through 3 rehabs and still can’t stop. I think the only way ill be able to is with God’s help and lots of prayers. I’d appreciate all the prayers I can get.

For your prayer request:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

God Bless You

Dear Lord , Dragoro is in despair about his addiction to alcohol . Lord take this addiction away from him and replace it with your love- your peace and your harmony . Bless Dragoro and let his life be turned around and let him help others and bless others and let him be your servant dear Lord . I thank you Father for doing this, in the name of my saviour Jesus, amen . God bless you Dragoro, your brother in Christ, John

This is addiction that so many of our brothers and sisters are suffering with you. God has given you strength to see your addiction and seek help for it and continue to seek help. Please grant more strength to overcome this addiction.

I’ll pray for you Dragoro that you may consider Alcoholics Anonymous. God often sends us help that we do not recognize or just plain refuse to consider. AA has the highest success rate in recovery and is a highly spiritual program. My hope and prayer is that you may consider it.

In Jesus and His Blessed Mother’
Peace,

Dragono,
You have my prayers as well. Alcoholism runs in my hubby’s family. He has two alcoholic brothers and one is a recovering alcholic, 3 years sober. He went back and forth too like you and would stop and than continue. Have you joined AA?

One of the things that I saw when I was hospitalized in a VA hospital for pain management, is a lot of veterans who had this addiction. They had an (name removed by moderator)atient rehabilitation unit in the hospital. One night I went to the Eucharistic Chapel and found a man about 40 years old who was not Catholic, kneeling and crying so loud before the Tabernacle. My heart went out to him and I asked him what the problem was so that I could pray for him or with him. He looked up at me, with a very wet face from tears, and said to me, “I have tried and tried over and over again to quit drinking and I keep going back. I don’t know what to do. I want it to stop!” I started to cry as well. I put my hand over his back and prayed for him for I did not have words of wisdom except to tell him that he was in the right place to ask for help. He even bowed down and he was not a Catholic. He told me he was a Baptist when he was a little boy. I still think of that man today. I pray for him and hope he conquered his addiction with and only with Christ.

If you went to Mass today, it was the story of the Vine and the Branches. Jesus is the Vine and we are the branches and apart from Him, we can do nothing. Attach yourself to Jesus. I have told this to my BIL also, but he has yet to do it. He fears doing it for other reasons, some bad life choices he doesn’t want to give up. But you, try to come to closer to Jesus. Read about Him in the Bible, visit Him in the Tabernacle, Receive Him frequently in Holy Communion. One thing that I have seen in my husband’s life is that when they could not handle daily stress, they learned to turn to something (alcohol) to make them feel better. They had to keep increasing the amount to numb themselves from their life’s problem. They found out like many alcoholics that it doesn’t work. Alcohol may make you feel better for a short time, but not in the long term. It doesn’t make you happy and in fact can cause problems with family, friends or the law if you drive under the influence. It is not worth it.

Stressed out and need something to make you feel better—**TRY JESUS! **Jesus is waiting for you, Dragono, with open arms. He is waiting for you to put your life in His Hands. He will be the ONLY one to help you overcome your addiction.

God bless you and your will be in my prayers from now on.

I highly recommend Mother Teresa’s intercession. She obtained the grace for me to stop smoking and that was no small feat. I smoked 3 packs a day for 44 years. Just click on my signature link to ask for her intercession.

For your intentions: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Venerable Matt Talbot, please pray for our brother Dragoro, that he might be delivered from his addiction to alcohol.

Most Gracious Heavenly Father,

Please help Gregoro in Chicago. Help him to avoid the temptation and rid his life of this vicious vice.

Amen

This thread is so beautiful. I have just left 2 other threads with the most close-minded people spewing hatred for their cause… I was about ready to leave this site for good ( I’ve only newly signed on). Perhaps there is goodness here as well.

And so for your need, I will pray as well. It is a need close to my heart.

Rich blessings upon you.

Dear friend,
It took me four tries to get it right. Have faith. God can heal you if you let Him.

You are in my prayers.

Thank you friends. I’ve never felt so loved in my life. It makes my heart glad and with the help of your prayers hopefully ill be able to beat this addiction.

Lord, please help Dragoro overcome his addiction to alcohol. Give him the strength to resist this most powerful tool of evil and help him to live a sober life focused on you. Amen.

You have my prayers. I will remember you most especially because I have a dear friend who is currently in his third rehab. Please remember him when you are offering up your sufferings. I am praying a continual novena–my nine day stints just keep adding up. I will add you to my list of friends suffering and struggling and fighting the weakness that resists the cross that will bring true freedom. Your illness is the Passion relived each time you are tempted to drink. So know that in those times you are held close to the Father because you most resemble his Son during the hours of saving suffering. God Bless you and keep you.

**Going through multiple rehabs is not unusual in one’s attempt to stay clean and sober.

Although not the only way, I recommend attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Our God definitely works through this program as Steps 2 and 3 indicate as does the experiences of those who have stopped drinking and stayed stopped one day at a time. Try to go to daily meetings. And it is especially important to find a long-recovered (temporary) sponsor to guide you through the steps.

In addition (and as mentioned above), you might ask for the assistance of the Venerable Matt Talbot who lived before the founding of AA but incorporated the 12 steps in his effort to overcome drinking and smoking. For more information about him, go to venerablematttalbotresourcecenter.blogspot.com/

Please keep us posted of your journey. You are not alone.

Praying very hard for you to conquer this! Please persevere even though it is very difficult. Many people have overcome this and I pray that you will too!
