I have been debating with many atheists on another website, and they have been easily discrediting everything I have said for proof there is a God. I .
you might try getting your evidence for the existence of God from the Word of God Himself, and sticking with the bible and sound Catholic teaching, books and websites, for a start. we have no business even attempting apologetics debates with non-Christians until and unless our own faith is firmly grounded. Would you ask a Chinese communist to explain the American constitution and system of government to you?

That’s where non-Catholic are wrong about what Catholic do! Do they pray to St. Paul? No ! Do they **pray to **The Virgin Mother? No! Do they **pray to **St. Ching_PBUH? No!

Catholic invoke their names so they may intercede for them to The Father, i.e. pray together, them in Heaven and man on earth!

If there ever is a Catholic who prays thus: “O St. Ching_PBUH, I pray that you will heal me of this iniquity…” then THAT Catholic better go for another round of RCIA !!! 😃

Right Cute2904? 😉
You got that right Ching… peace be upon you, brother!!! 👍

Yes i agree, the best thing you can do here is try to eliminate any doubt, mentally, if you try to rationalize your faith, you will talk yourself out of it. Just find something in your day to day activities that is positive, and thank god for it, then find something you arent happy with, and speak with god about it.

asquared I would love the opportunity to ask a Chinese Communist about our governmental system to find out how we are viewed in this world, Americans think they are way cool. Guess what? We arent, we suck, and it takes somebody looking in from the outside to put our lives in perspective for us. Yes thats right, there is an outside world, with thousands upon thousands of religions, with people born and raised on such values, can you say you’d be a devout catholic after being brought up knowing nothing but buddhism? If you say “yes”, I would ask that you please dont ever vote for anything.

When Jesus gave an example of a prayer, did he have to go to mommy first? Of course, not. He prayed to His Father. We don’t need any intersessor. Christ is our one and only intercessor. Mary is dead, and she can’t hear anyone. As far as going to the Catholics, I do not need to go to ROMAN CATHOLICS. They have a religion of deceit and lies. I go to God and God only.

I have looked into darwin’s writings and evidences for evolution and have looked at things dissaproving miracles, “proof” Jesus never existed, and things regarding the “true origin” of the Bible.
Well, first off, those are some dumb atheists you’re arguing with if they believe they have proof that Jesus never existed. Independent of Holy Writ, the historian Josephus wrote of Him. Also, appealing TO the Holy Scriptures, remember that over 500 witnesses saw and touched the Risen Christ. Conspiracy theories don’t work in the face of really reading and understanding the implications of what the Gospel says.

Well, in the words of Cardinal Manning, you worship God in your way and I’ll worship Him in His. You realize, of course, that you’re at odds with your founder, Martin Luther? He never dumped Catholic teaching about the Blessed Virgin, something that SOME of you Lutherans conveniently forget. Check it out:

Corey,

Ask and you shall receive… I too shall remember you in my prayers. You have been given a lot of good advice here. Also keep in mind that being cynical and not believing in something (i.e. Atheism) is, well frankly cowardly. Being cynical is not typically based in reality and upon experience as is usually claimed, but in laziness and fear. You don’t have to open your mind by being cynical. Atheism is kin to cynicism and more of a refusal to think for oneself than a true belief. Science does not disprove God. Anyone who claims it does, does not understand real science and is not a true scientist. Be brave, be strong and be faithful! THAT is what will make you different from “the establishment” that Atheist claim to be against, but are in fact the very thing they claim to oppose.

Peace,

George
