I would very much appreciate it if you would be kind enough to pray for me. I suffer from a severe anxiety disorder that, while I am on medication to help lessen my anxiety attacks, still manages to interefere with various aspects of my daily life. I have the most difficulties when in a new environment or if I am in a social situation where I cannot leave without being rude (i.e. it would be rude to leave a class or an appointment early, which sort of makes me feel trapped as odd as that sounds). I am a university student and my spring semester classes are starting tomorrow. The first week or two of classes is always the hardest for me. In fact, last semester my anxiety was so bad that I would sometimes get all the way to my class only to turn around and leave before getting through the doorway. Were it not for my anxiety problems I would have had perfect attendance last semester. The fact that I still managed to get great grades despite all this is proof that the Lord is helping me through these trials.

The medication also helps, and I am sure once I am past the first week or two things will be less difficult for me. Still, my classes all have strict non-negotiable attendance policies so I can only miss so many classes before automatically failing despite how well I do on exams or assignments. I pray daily to the Lord for help and healing with this problem and hope one day to be cured, especially since I did not always have this problem but once was actually a quite extroverted person. Anyway, I apologize for rambling on like this. Again I would be very thankful to anyone who will take a few moments of their time to say a prayer for me concerning this. Thank you. 🙂

I asked the Lord to help you get through this.

I would suggest speaking with the health office in your school as they may be of help by classifying your disorder as a disability of sorts so that you will not be downgraded. Check it out. Had we known about this ahead of time it would have helped one of our children for one semester while their was a physical problem going on. You may be surprised that the school can help you out here.

I wish you well and much success. Ask God to walk with you as you start your classes. I know He will. I’ve already asked Him.

Praying that you abandon yourself to God’s merciful love full of confidence in His merciful love. May God give you strength and peace at this difficult time. Amen.

I second this! My school had a department that helped coordinate accommodations for those who can’t keep up for reasons beyond there control. I friend mine (who had no visible emotional difficulties) for instance received extended time on tests because of an anxiety disorder. When I hurt my neck last year, they found a better chair for my dorm room! :D.

Schools (and employers for that matter) are actually required by law to make reasonable accommodations so that individuals can feel productive and not intimidated by unreasonable expectations. Being allowed to miss a few days due to a bonefide anxiety disorder I think would fall right in line with this goal.

If you would like to avoid drama of the students with disabilities department, you could also ask each professor individually for extra leniency. Even without mentioning the law, most professors would be happy to give you a bit of slack if it would help you succeed!

Just asking for a little help from those around you can make amazing things happen 🙂

I would like to start by saying thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to pray for me and also for all of your kind words of encouragement/advice. It is so nice to know that there are good Christian brothers and sisters out there who are willing to pray for a complete stranger because we are united in Christ.

Also, I have actually taken advantage of the disability services offered at my school. (Just began utilizing it last semester due to some wonderful advice from a professor who took a shining to me.) I am allowed to take all my exams in the student disability office’s learning center which provides individual examination rooms. This has proven to be a real blessing and has definitely helped improve my grades by at least a half a letter grade. I haven’t tried to request any leniency with attendance yet, though my professors last semester all knew I took my exams in the learning center and most of them knew I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder. Fortunately even though I missed some classes last semester I just managed to stay within the acceptable limits given to all students. However if I do run into a situation where I am coming close to exceeding that limit I may request some leniency on the part of my professors.

Again, thank you all so much for your prayers and helpful words. God bless you for being so charitable.

Lord we ask for Your grace to help this student. Guardian angel of this student stand close and protect them from anxiety. Amen.

Thanks again to everyone who has been kind enough to pray for me. I’m amazed that I actually got a decent night’s sleep last night (typically the first week of classes I’m lucky to get a combined total of 5 hours of sleep). Also (so far) I am relatively calm considering how anxious I normally am this time of the year. That said, I am sure it is God who is helping me through this in these little ways thanks to our combined prayers. I will try to remember that He is with me throughout the day.

Praying for your intentions….

Lord Jesus, You have said,
“Learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.”
With confidence in Your loving heart
which offers rest to weary souls,
we come to You in this time of special need.
In Your unfailing love,
read the prayer that is written on our hearts,
and grant the grace that we ask of You,
in accordance with Your holy will.
In Your name we pray.
Amen.

Praying hard for you to overcome your anxiety problem. May the Holy Spirit bring peace of mind.

Hi,
Praying for you. May the Lord show you that He is with you all the time.

Holy Mother Mary please hear our prayers

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

I just wanted to again say thank you so much to everyone who has prayed for me. I just finished my last class for the day about an hour ago and today has been definitely been the best first day of classes I’ve ever had. I barely had even a hint of anxiety and on top of that I enjoyed all of my classes and made favorable impressions on at least most of my professors today. 😃 Today has been just another affirmation that the Lord does hear our prayers and that no problem is too small for His attention.

Thanks again for your kind prayers and words of comfort/advice.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us form the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of your mercy. Amen.

I’d like to say thanks again to everyone for your prayers. My first week of classes is now more than half over and I’ve been having a blast! I’ve had nearly no anxiety problems and when I do start to have them I just pray for God’s help and He gets me through them. 😃
