I’m new to this forum and I am struggling to find my way back to the church. Years ago, I was a practicing Catholic. In 2009 I became pregnant with my son, and I have a medical condition that requires strict bed rest with periods of hospitalization while pregnant. Long story short- after having my son I never resumed my Catholic life. I feel lost and I miss it so much. I tried to go to a few protestant churches that held children’s serves, but it is just not the same. I miss my faith.

The once I tried to go to mass with my children it was an abysmal failure. My husband and i ended up steaming mad at each other by the end of the service. I have a 7 yr old and a 2 1/2 year old boy. They don’t know how to behave in Mass. I know this is my fault. My church does have a nursery- but then I feel guilty taking my son there. He is in daycare 9 hours a day mon-fri.

I know this all sounds like a bunch of excuses and you know- really they are. I wish I had the strength to put God before everything/everyone. But right now I am just struggling.

Don’t be to hard. Just keep going things will get better. Welcome

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee
blessed art thou among women and
blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus
Holy Mary mother of God pray for us
sinners now and at the hour of our death
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning is now ever shall be world without end Amen

This should be a time for excitement, welcome back to the Catholic faith. Know that God will steer your life in right direction. I have always attended mass, but this past year I seem to focus on God more and more. It’s quite fascinating how much he loves us, all we have to do is give our time each day to focus on him, and the rest will truly follow. God bless!! 🙂

Lord, grant your angels’ guiding light to LostLamb34, that she may be guided with clarity to that comfortable dwelling place in which you would have her abide. Send her abundant graces that she might foster the virtues of understanding and fortitude. Mary, pray with us. Amen. :harp:

When you are well, yes it’s hard when the children are young, but we have to try to be patient as we can manage. 🙂 Sometimes it helps to take a holy book for the times it’s hardest for little ones to get through an hour of words and actions they don’t yet understand. They can be taught to understand , but I know it can be embarrassing when they seem to disturb others.

welcome back!! perhaps a coloring book? people do understand. i do have to say that one hour in nursery will not kill them. they will learn to conduct themselves there and meet new people and get the “church” experience. buck up and have faith. that’s what God is for. it will be amazing the wonders he will do if you just go!:blessyou:

Praying for you.

I entrust you and your family to the care of the Blessed Virgin Mary. May she intercede for you and lead you ever so close to her son. May she help you to pray for faith and for the graces you need to persevere in a state of grace.

Hail Mary…

Amen.
