Please pray for me

Hello,

Please pray for me as I assist the dying. Some of you already know that someone close to me is on their death bed (Maria A). She is very agitated and death is not far off for her. She is in the hospital and has already been given the sacrament of the sick. Though I cannot predict exactly when Our Lord will take her. But I know that she will eventually rest with Him as she has been a faithful servant to Him. However, I am not able to sleep as the events throughout the day play on my mind when I try to go to sleep. I have stomache cramps and I feel an overwelming urge to throw up. I know this is due to the stress. Please pray that I will be able to carry my cross.

I am looking also for words of encouragement. So if any of you have any good quotes, please post them.
 
I will be keeping you in daily prayer…your ministry is indeed a most stressful one. Will be keeping Maria A in daily prayer too…

You are sent to comfort the afflicted, and those dying are surely afflicted. Your patient assurance and consoling words will soothe the apprehensive soul. Since Maria is a member of the Body of Christ, has eaten His Precious Body, and since she has been annointed, focus on the eternal joy of being in the presence of God the Father, with a loving Jesus Christ to intercede for her. Since both love her more than we can imagine, she must take comfort in the promises of Christ.

Psalm 119:76
May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Merciful Lord of all, graciously hear our prayers that St Gabriel and Maria A be comforted and assured of Your unfathomable love; that Your healing Holy Spirit will guide and comfort during this stressful and anxious time. Since You gave Your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, all authority in Heaven and on earth, incline Your ear to hear His pleading intercession on behalf of your servants, that they may find rest in You, turning from worldly cares and focusing on eternal life, through great faith and trust in You, O Glorious Father. I ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.

Lord I pray for Maria at the hour of her death deliver her your peace.
 
:gopray: Lord continue to strengthen this angel of mercy. Continue to be with her as she carries the cross she is asked to bear. May she be mindful of how You have walked with her, cared for her as she walk this road of her life.

Thank you all for your prayers and words of wisdom. They give me and the family great comfort. I will be looking on this thread for encouragement (especially at the end of each day) and keep you posted on Maria’s condition.

I was reminded today that St Joseph is the patron saint of the dying, so I will be turning to him for his intercession as well.

Maria A is not doing well. Her mind has deteriorated. All she does is pray the rosary out loud or say “Water”. Her body is unbelievably strong though she hasn’t eaten in more than 3 weeks. Prayers are needed for her and the family. We try to give her water and she pushes it away and can’t swallow.

St Gabriel, I believe that, for some, the Lord’s mercy extends to their experiencing purgatory while yet alive, so that, upon answering God’s call, they may proceed directly to the Kingdom. Maria A is so strong that she may very well be undergoing purification as we speak. God’s grace is so amazing, that we cannot fathom even a partial nature of it.

Merciful and loving God, You are revealing Your mercy to us. Look with great compassion upon Maria A, that she may be purified in our sight, ready for Your Kingdom. Lord, we love You and we desire to be in Your Divine presence throughout eternity. We await Your call, but strive to do Your will until that time, so that we may be found acceptable to You.Have mercy upon Maria A, forgiving her all sinfulness and purifying her to perfection, that she may enter into the joy of Your presence. I ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, for ever and ever, Amen.

Still praying for the Lord’s spiritual healing and eternal mercy. Amen.

It is very hard, but if you can achieve it, you will rest in the comfort of knowing that our God is all knowing and loving and is caring for each of us even though He may seem very far away at times.

Praying hard for you and for Maria.

This is possible. Maria has been a spiritual giant all of her life and I have personally benefited from all her prayers. Her lungs continue to fill up with fluid and she continues to say “water”. The doctor says they don’t know where all the fluid is coming from. It reminds me of the last words of our saviour “I thirst”. I honestly believe that her reward will be great. She also said, “Lucia, water.” a few times. There is nobody by that name in the family. I think she is refering to Fatima.
