Me too. 🙂 We have an all-black little mite named Sheba that is quite the little princess - very regal!
I don’t know why, but I’ve always thought that black cats look rather regal. Sheba certainly is a regal name, sound like it suits her! 🙂

I’m glad he’s continuing to improve. I’ll keep praying. 🙂
Thank you! 🙂 No dramatic improvements today, but he’s still mending slowly. He was ALMOST allowed to have the cone off his head permanently, but after 15 minutes he was determined to ‘sort out’ the fur on the scabby paw, so back the cone went. He was given an antibiotic shot today to help the paw heal, though, so hopefully the cone will be history soon!

It does! She’s a beautiful little thing - tiny little pointy face. Not that all cats aren’t beautiful, of course, but some are beautiful in different ways. 🙂 Black cats just seem to be … stately. Aristocratic cats. laughing When they’re not trying to look like scary Halloween kitties… 😉

I hope it comes off soon, too. From the way it sounds, I’m optimistic. 🙂

LOL, black is my favorite color for a cat. If it weren’t for my allergy, I would have one or two cats right now. I understand what you’re asying about your cat, too. My dog, Zach, has a very proper, regal demeanor about him. He always holds his head high and has perfect posture whether he’s sitting or standing. He has a very “high class” look on his face that just reminded me of a British butler when I brought him home from the SPCA. (Yes, I know my mind works in mysterious ways. 😃 ) So anyway, I gave him the middle name “Jeeves.” I just thought it suited him. So his full name is actually Zachary Jeeves, but I call him Zach. Unless he’s done something bad, then I call him Zachary Jeeves. As in “Zachary Jeeves, what did you just do?” 😃

😃 That makes perfect sense! I can picture him with that marvelous Stephen Fry air about him - “Indeed, sir”.

Oh, I LOVE the full name. chortling That makes me think of MY name, actually - I was named Debbie Lynn, one of those names that’s meant to be a two-parter (like Mary Ann), but I never realized that until I was in my teens … I was never ‘Debbie Lynn’ unless I was in trouble for something! :whacky:

Exactly! You understand! 😃 When I looked at him sitting perfectly straight and looking at me with that regal, high society expression, I could just hear him say something like, “You rang, sir?” 😃 Also, when Dolly and Fred are playing and being rambunctious, Zach just sits off to the side and looks at them like they’re inferior to him. He always get this stuffy, haughty air about him. It’s hilarious!

My mother didn’t use my full name unless I was in trouble either. As for my dogs, they all have middle names. The other two are named Dolly Sue and Frederick George. Again, the names just suited them. 😃

But of course! 🙂

HOWL! Oh, he sounds like a most wonderful dog! I had a cat that had that air about her, except on her it looked more like a prima ballerina … I couldn’t think of any famous ballerinas with names I thought were pretty, so she ended up being ‘Misha’ - Baryshnikov’s nickname.

Isn’t that wonderful? Like ‘I wouldn’t dream of behaving like that!’ 😃

Our Kami used to give the cats a look, when they were rolling around in the catnip, that was pure Church Lady. “You’ll rot your brain doing that.”

It’s one of those Mother Things, I think!

I think those are marvelous! Perfect choices to go with the first names, really - I’m particularly smitten with Dolly Sue. 😉

It’s been years since I gave a cat a middle name, sadly … our Tuffy was formally Mr. Tufficus Garfield Puss. :whacky:

I will, and thank you very much for the advice!

I like that name. It sounds good for a cat. Baryshnikov is only ballet dancer I’ve heard of at all.

Yes, that’s exactly the look he gives them! He looks at them like he thinks they’re undignified.

It’s amazing how animals have their quirks and unique personalities, like people. 🙂

Thank you! 🙂 I like the name you gave your cat. I’m a big fan of the Garfield comic strip, so if I could have a cat, I’d probably name him Garfield. 🙂

Merciful Lord, You created the mortal souls of animals, out of Your immeasurable love, to be our companions and help us see your Goodness. Since mercy for any of Your created living things reflects love of You, O Lord, grant that SilentDeb’s cat will respond to the care he is receiving. Since he plays an important part in revealing Your mercy and love, send heavenly healing also to calm Your beloved daughter, SilentDeb. I ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen…

I used to be a ballet fanatic … and sadly, off the top of my head, I can’t think of any of those names any more. Allegra Kent, there’s one. But Allegra doesn’t seem like a cat name. 😉

“Tsk, you’re such animals.😃

It suits the orange ones quite a bit! grin We have three orange kitties these days - Morris (not too imaginative there, but it suited him), Hobbes, and Otis. Otis is VERY round, so anything with an ‘O’ suits him … he’s shaped like an ‘O’. 👍

Oh my … that was such a beautiful prayer. Thank you so much!

You’re doing better than me! 😃

LOL, exactly. I’m convinced he thinks he’s human.

“Round” cats are so cute! Animals bring ao much joy into my life, and they obviously do yours as well. Keep us updated! 🙂

I like the little guys to be a bit chubby, at the least … when they’ve had hard lives, they should be allowed to fill out and take it easy. 😉 Poor little Otis is darned overweight, though (he doesn’t eat much - he’s a cat that gains weight just LOOKING at food), but he’s slimmed down over the last couple of years from his top weight of 29 (OUCH!) pounds to 23 pounds. If I could get him down 6 or 7 more pounds, I’d be thrilled!

No major news tonight - it was a busy night at the vet’s, so Cosmo didn’t get a chance to impress me with any new ability to walk around on the floor, but he was navigating his cage better than last night, and ate quite a bit of food on his own as soon as I took his cone off … groomed himself a lot too, which is a good sign! 👍

I’m glad, it sounds like he’s improving still. I adopt all my animals from the SPCA, and I agree. After having such hard lives, I like to spoil them a little. I leave their food in their bowls all day so they can eat whenever they get hungry, and I keep a constant supply of dog biscuits in the cabinet. I also like to buy pig ears every now and then. They love them. I also buy these sausage dog treats from time to time. They’re made with real beef and pork, and my dogs love them. They eat well! 😃
