I’m hoping too - thank you so much!I’m glad to hear that Cosmo is improving.Hopefully he’ll regain his sight and whatever else was effected.
He’s really doing well, other than developing an enthusiasm for playing in the water dish! 
(the vet always says it’s a good sign when a sick cat feels like being naughty!)

Just got a chance to read through the thread. Glad all the kitties seem to be doing better. I’ll be praying for them though! I have 3 kitties
Otis-part tabby/part white; came from the Humane Society (his middle name is Potis
); he is 5 and was our 1st cat; he sleeps in the bed in between DH & me
Park- black, DH rescued from the parking lot of our downtown office and was very malnourished (yes, his full name is Parking Lot) and he is scared of EVERYTHING except DH & me; he sleeps in the bed next to my feet
Walt- black & white, I rescued from the turning median of a very busy Highway; he was very tiny and just crawling across the asphalt. I picked him up and he curled up in the passenger seat of my car and he spent the entire day at work with me. The vet saved his life because he was covered in fleas that took 2 weeks to kill. But he’s happy and healthy now and he loves water, believe it or not. DH and I kid each other that he must be a Baptist cat because he has gone head first in a tub full of water on his own accord 3 times (the last was about 1 hour ago
), btw, his full name is Walter Elias (yes after Walt Disney, DH is a disney nut); and once Walt declawed he’ll sleep in the bed too.
Oh and we say the other two are Metho-Cats because DH is Methodist and I’m Catholic! Just some good Cat Humor!!

Perhaps my Cosmo is a Catholic cat, and that’s why he keeps dipping his foot in the water dish … he thinks he’s sprinkling holy water.

You know, it actually is. Several of my friends, as well as my dogs’ vet, have told me this. Of course, they all told me well after I adopted the dogs. It’s ok, though. Even if I had known when I adopted them, it wouldn’t have changed a thing. I still would ahve brought them home.

Black kitties just seem to have a certain sort of personality, don’t they? laughing Cosmo even has the little clerical collar to go with the role - I never thought about that until now. chortling You sound like Diane, Finnigan’s mum. They have truly unique personalities, beagles do, but they’re among the most lovable dogs going (in my opinion!).You know, it actually is. Then again, their craziness is part of their charm. Many are the times I just sit and watch them play and act crazy, and I just laugh and laugh. My dogs add so much to my life. I’ve never regretted adopting them.

LOL, I love animals. I’d have a few cats too I wasn’t allergic to them. I’ve been thinking about getting a guinea pig lately. I know that’s a bit juvenile, but I just love guinea pigs. They’re such sweet, gentle animals, you know?laughing I don’t think they’d be beagles if they weren’t crazy - and they certainly never do get boring, do they?

I’ve always loved guinea pigs. They make better pets than hamsters or gerbils, because they have such a gentle nature. Hamsters and gerbils have to be tamed, and they bite before you tame them. With those long, sharp teeth, they can really dig into your hand and do some damage too.Oh, there’s nothing juvenile about wanting a guinea pig - they have so much personality! Oof, I do remember that … I had a gerbil named Bobby when I was 6, and while he was normally quite a nice-tempered little fellow, he got it into his head one day to just sink his teeth into my thumb and hang on. I was shaking my hand all over, with him flapping by his teeth from it, and I don’t think I managed to get him off until I started whumping him on the bed.
I’m not sure if that’s funny or horrible, in hindsight … poor Bobby. I was considerably more upset for myself at the time, though. laughing (he lived through it, and survived to a ripe old age for a gerbil)
Guinea pigs just love to be cuddled. I don’t know if a hamster or gerbil actually registers the concept of being cuddled - they’re just too small, I think. And they don’t squeak endearingly, like guinea pigs.
So when are you getting one?

When I was about 10 years old, my hamster bit my mother on the thumb and wouldn’t let go either. She had to shake her thumb hard before the hamster would finally release. She had a large, deep bite. It was so bad, she thought she would need stitches, but thankfully she didn’t. So when are you getting one?
I don’t know exactly when I’m getting one. I have to find a safe place in the house to keep it, out of reach of the dogs. If not, they’d probably eat it.

DEFINITELY not - they just want to snuggle with you, and then be left to do their own guinea pig ‘thing’.
Your poor mother! Wow, that was one fierce hamster!
Hmm, good point … it’s small, it moves - it’s a meal. A completely enclosed cage, perhaps?

Yes, I’ll definitely get a completely closed cage, with a plastic/wire cover so the guinea pig can get air. I’m especially worried that Fred would eat the guinea pig, since he’s a beagle and he was used for hunting before I adopted him. (At least we’re rather certain that was the case, due to how he was found.)
