After riding an emotional roller coaster for the past 5 years, I can not seem to bear it any longer. I have decided on a separation. I have prayed, read books, asked for andvice on Catholic radio, and have even spoken to a Priest. The only posible alternative i have come up with is a separation. My husband has hurt me so much (went as far as an affair) that I can not seem to trust him.

I ask for your prayers, that God lead us to his Will. I do not want to hurt and feel it is wrong that i hurt my husband with guilt.

Please pray for my family.

St. Joseph, patron of the family, pray for this couple. Jesus, have mercy on them and bring them comfort.

Our Father, who art in Heaven. Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy WILL be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. :byzsoc:

Don’t feel alone. Christ is by your side & that of your husband. Keep praying & surrender this situation to Him. He will guide both of you in the right direction.

Saint Rita you dealt with so much in your own marriage, have mercy on this family and intercede for them before our Lord Jesus.

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee
Blessed art thou amongst women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our death.

I’m praying for you and your husband now.
I’m so sorry for what you must be going through.

May God heal your heart and spirit, and your husband’s.
What spouses can go through together or at the other’s hands is sometimes no less than torture.

God, please accept all the distress and tears of this wife as prayer from the heart. Please unite this prayer with the sufferings and love of Jesus, Mary, and all the saints, to intercede for this husband and wife. God please give true repentance and a firm resolve of fidelity to the husband, and forgiveness and trust to his wife’s wounded heart.

Whatever happens, may Your will be done in the lives of this husband a wife…
and all in their situation.

Trishie

I’m really sorry! I hope you realize though, that while each partner believes the problem in a marriage is 80% the fault of the other, most often they will realize years later that it really was 50/50.

Divorce, while appearing to be an easy way out, can be really hard on families and destroy a lot of closeness even between siblings, who may become competitive against one another as well as develop a fear of “close attachment” later in life. This in turn is likely to affect their marriages and possibly even the stability of their children.

If you feel your spouse is chiefly at fault, I hope that before making the decision you personally seek counseling to ensure that you haven’t subconsciously been an “enabler.”

The state you and your husband are in is extremely painful for both. Nothing is more lonely than being married without connection.

In the event that you are still clearly aware that things won’t work even after the counseling because the love has fizzled to the point it can no longer be revived, you still need BOTH need counseling to ensure you don’t tear each other to shreds in the divorce process and afterward. Believe it or not, it is often possible to have a peaceful divorce if no other solution can be found.

Keep in mind that no marriage is perfect. Often marriages will break up because one partner has truly unreasonable expectations of the other. There are times in even some of the best marriages where one partner will truly loathe the other for awhile. For the great majority of people, life is anything but a Harlequin romance.

Thank you so much!!! In recent days have been receiveing support from many…unexpectedly. What could this possibly mean? (Could it be that God is telling me to hold on one bit…and not throw in the towel??)

As for my husband and I…well I am afraid. Just yesturday he asked me if I could find it in me to give our marriage another chance. Asked if I would be willing to have his baby. (We were going through infertility treatments before all this happened…not sure that I can go through it again.) You would think that he has realized the importance of a stable marriage full of love and respect…however in his plea to reconcile… never does he say he loves me. I strongly believe…he is reacting out of fear.

I am finding strength…in prayer and meditation. Just as long as I keep my visions in the present and beyond, as the past only brings me sadness.

May God Bless You All…

I will certainly pray for you, and ask the same of you, because I am in the same situation. My wife has filed for a divorce. May God bless you all.

Sweety, work on your marriage if you feel there’s still any light left on the candle (from both ends that is, not just one.

If you can’t figure that out, you need to do two things:

(1) listen to your dreams carefully, and try to remember them, because God will let you know if you are either in denial of rejection that’s clearly apparent, or whether you’re sensitivity is overemphasized because of unrealistic expectations.

(2) Seek counseling because, regardless of your decision, the road ahead will be tough and you’ll need all the support you can get.

Whatever you do, don’t bring a child into your marriage at this time. Wait at least two years. Children need to be brought into stable homes. Their tiny little shoulders can break extremely easily, resulting in a great deal of pain. They weren’t designed to be used as marriage stabilizers.
