I am so sorry that this turn in the road came up. I am glad to hear that you realize this is not your fault, because it is not. This is on him and not you. (just my humble opinion) Things happen in our lives that we can’t explain and we don’t understand. As you know they are the times we rely on our faith. A lot of us are proud of how well you are holding up, even if you don’t feel like you are because you are. Your strength is an example to the rest of us. Please remember you are loved and prayed for.

Good golly Cassie, praying for you hard…take care…you have lots of friends here who care!
Cassie, I agree with Simon that you have lots of friends here who really care and God loves your very much.
Continue praying

Thank you nahbios, Simon X, rebusrms and wina for your continued prayers. I did not talk to my husband tonight, he did not call and I did not call him. I think we both need time to think about what we want and need. I know without a doubt that I still love John, but I don’t know how much more blame I can take from him for everything going wrong. I know somewhere inside of him he still loves me but I know he is struggling with guilt for what he has done and with the evil one. I know I cannot heal him, but I continue to pray that God will. I still believe John is a good man and loves me, but I don’t know if he will win the struggle he is having with himself right now. He knows I still love him and I continue to tell him so. I pray that God will let him know that God’s love and my love are true. I realize that I cannot control John and may have to come to terms with living without him in my life, but I continue to hope and believe that eventually we can be reconciled again. I continue to draw strength from all of you and thank each and every one of you for your words of encouragement and your prayers. I am humbled and do not feel worthy of prayers, but am thankful for them anyway. May the Lord be with each and every one of you.

Cassie, IMO it is time to relax as best you can and pray. Allow the Holy Spirit, who accomplishes all good on this earth, to do His work. Seek the counsel of Christ before the Blessed Sacrament and be at peace.

Praying for both of you.

I believe I should be praying more for you! I can only admire how you’re dealing with this, through God’s Grace. I’ll continue to pray. God bless you and John and all your loved ones through this time and through all your lives.

Thank you for your prayers po18guy and nahbios, I am now asking for more prayers. My mother was in a serious car accident today and is being transported to a regional hospital because of her injuries. The car is so smashed up that they had to use the jaws of life to get her out. It is amazing that she is alive because to see the car you would think that someone had died. She has no internal injuries that they could find at the local hospital but her right leg is severly crushed and I am not sure if they can save it. I will be going with my father to the hospital early tomorrow morning unless the hospital calls, then it will be earlier. I am praying for her recovery and thank the Lord that she was not killed. I called my husband and he is so sorry that this has happened and is praying for her. Thank you in advance for your prayers. I know that this will only make me and our family stronger. May God Bless You!

God of love and mercy, look with unfathomable compassion upon cassie’s mother, sending her healing and strength to bear her up through this crisis. Draw cassie’s family together through this ordeal and deepen their love for one another. Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, is our strength and we look to Him for our inspiration and intercession before Your Blessed Throne. Hear our prayers, O Lord God Almighty! Amen!

Thank you to all my friends here at the forum for your prayers. My mother is doing better. She will have surgery as soon as the swelling goes down in her leg to repair the broken bones. They are going to have to put a plate in below the knee to help heal the break. They figure it will four months before she will be able to put most of her weight on it, but I am so thankful that it wasn’t anything more. She still is running the risk of infection and a few other things, but we are hopeful.

My husband, John, kept in touch with us to keep updated on her condition. He also asked if I had told my parents about what was going on with us and I said no. He then said it was up to me if I wanted to tell them. They already had figured something was going on and weren’t surprised at the news. John thought I told them everything including about the other woman but I told him I hadn’t, I didn’t want them to hate him, my father thinks of him as a son. I then asked him if he would wait until after Christmas to proceed with the papers because I didn’t want a gloomy Christmas, everyone still loves us, they just want us to be happy and to sort this out on our own. He did not give me an answer, but I think he will wait and I pray that during this time God will guide me to some kind of peace whether it be with John or being on my own. I still love the man very much and still have hope and faith that we will reconcile. Our families have been very supportive and want what is best for us. I don’t think John believes that because he has not forgiven himself for what he has done and I think that is why he lashed out at me because he feels that his family will feel differently towards him and not love him anymore which is not true. I pray that John will let God help him and that he will continue to be with us during these difficult times inn our lives. Thank you again for your prayers for my mother, they mean so much to her and to my family. May God Bless You!

Cassie, still pray for you and your family and your husband

Wow…an eventful 72 hours for your family. Thank God your mother is going to be okay and that the accident wasn’t more serious. The roads can be so dangerous - here in Ireland, there are more accidents per capita than many other European countries, so I hear. She will be in my prayers too. 😉

I imagine John must be really grateful to you for your generous kindness in not mentioning the other woman to your parents. I hope he won’t file for anything until after Christmas at least and, like you, I pray for the renewal of your relationship and salvation of your marriage.

You are both in my daily prayers. 👍

A time to keep your mother, and your husband in prayer. It is strange how, just when we think things could not get worse, they do. It can turn from tragedy to become a blessing by re-focusing your energy and attention upon your mother’s healing. The Lord has a way of taking care of everything else when we are doing His will with those who are in need. Continued prayers for your mother and for your marriage. Amen!

Thank you for your prayers, wina, nahbios and po18guy! The swelling has gone down alot on my mother’s leg and it looks like that they will be doing surgery tomorrow and possibly going home on Wednesday or Thanksgiving Day. I realize that I have a lot to be thankful for even if my marriage is in crisis right now and may end in divorce. Both my parents and John’s parents are taking a neutral position on our problems because it is John and I’s life and both sets love and care for us but also want us to be happy. I brought my well-worn Bible with me and have found comfort in it. I have felt until recently that everything that has gone wrong in our marriage has been my fault either directly or indirectly. I know now it’s not. My health has been suffering because I felt this way, but I have had time to reflect and realize that I need to take care of me because there are many people that do care and love me. I still love John, that is something that no one can change, but I cannot bend him to do what I want him to do, all I can do is to continue to pray for him. I know he is suffering and needs help but I cannot make him get help, he has to want and ask for it. This is one of the hardest things to do because I feel so helpless and I do want to help him. I know his anger at me for telling our parents is because he is afraid that they will think differently of him and that has made me feel resposible if they do, but I know that is not true, I cannot control John anymore than I can control the weather. I am not sure what road I am going down, but I do believe which ever one it is God is with me all the time. I take my marriage vows seriously so I will continue to hope, pray and believe that this marriage can be saved. May the Lord Bless You!

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She will be in my prayers as well as you. For what its worth, I am proud of how far you have come dealing with your situation. I am so pleased that you realize that its not your fault and that you can’t control your husband. You are so strong and I just pray you realize that.
