Hello Cassie,

I’m sorry for not being on for so long… 😦 Just to let you know that I’m still praying for you and John: for the blessing of your marriage, and the strengthening of your love for one another and for Christ. I’m still praying for your mother and your son in the war too.

You continue to inspire me with your patience, humility and love. I’ll keep up the prayers!! 👍

Slán agus Beannacht Dé, :gopray:
Lots of love from Siobhán.

Thank you for your prayers, they mean a lot to me!

I got the biggest surprise at work today. I was delivered a dozen red roses with a card from John! I was speechless. I called him an thanked him and he said that he had to do it right or wrong and that we would talk later tonight. I know that much of this has to do with your continued prayers for us and I am so grateful and thankful. We still may be heading for divorce, but I am letting God lead the way with this.

I also had a therapy session on Tuesday and everything went well and I even have a few books that I am reading that the therapist recommended. She told me that I am a stronger woman than I believe that I am and that John is not convinced that this marriage is done. I am going to a different support group on Monday since it’s more Christian than the other one and it’s for women. A friend of mine invited me to come since she is also going through problems in her marriage also.

My oldest son called from Afghanistan and it was so good to hear from him and know that he is alright. We talked for about 20 minutes before he had to go. I am thankful that God has kept him safe and that He will continue to watch over him.

I am keeping all of you, my brothers and sisters in Christ in my prayers and hope that you will continue to keep the faith. May God bless All!

Just a note to let you know I am still praying for you…and your family…Roses? What a nice surprise…I am praying that John’s eyes are open and his ears are hearing God’s Word to him…Our biggest miracles come to us with small little steps one at a time…Keeping you in prayers. AND I am searching for a therapist too (one that is free) so I can start my own counselling session. I’m not worried about finding one…I know that God will leadme in the right direction. I have been in therapy before and it has helped so much…Their recommendations (as to books to read) are amazing. They always seem to know what we need to hear and read. GoD Bless You, my dear, dear friend…
Keeping you in prayer,
Diane

Thanks for update Cassie. What a great surprise and thank God for all the wonderful things that have happened in your life this week.

Continued prayers and take care…

I am asking for prayers for John again. This morning he called and sounded depressed. I told him that I love and care for him very much and to smile. He said that he thought about getting drunk and taking a whole bottle of Tylenol PM tonight. When he said this my heart almost stopped. I told him his family and me care for him alot and that if I could I would give him a big hug. We talked some more and he said he felt a little better and that he would talk to me later. I went into town to have lunch with a friend of mine that is having marriage problems also. We both have found great comfort in letting God more into our lives. We had a nice time and will see each other again at the support group I will be going to on Monday.

I got home and picked up the mail and found that I had something from the courthouse, it was a notice of case filing and assignment for our divorce, so that answered the question if John had signed the papers, I called him to find out how he was doing and he sounded even more depressed than this morning. I told him that I picked up the mail and that court filing was in there. He became very quiet and said that he should go. I maybe shouldn’t have said anything about it, but I am assuming he has the papers already so he knew I would get them soon. He then told me that he was going to get drunk tonight and that if anything happened to him he wanted to be cremated and no service. I am very scared for him and told him that there are many that love him. He told me that he should have never gone out there, he’s failed at everything. This is a fight that I don’t want the evil one to win so I am praying that God will help and be with John and that all of you will say an extra prayer for John because I know he is a good man and that we can fight this together. I still believe this marriage and this man can be saved because I know God loves us. Thank you my brothers and sisters in Christ in advance for your prayers, they continue to mean so much to me.

Loving God,

We lift up Cassie and John today and ask for your blessings and your divine love to be showered on them and their marriage. Please protect John and keep him safe as he continues his journey of faith and listens to your call. Please continue to give Cassie strength and courage and bless her prayers and intentions as you bless the prayers of all your persistent people. We often do not understand why you share the trials and sufferings with us in life, but help Cassie and John to respond to your call and your plan for them and give them the gifts of a strong faith and steadfast hope in You.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one god for ever and ever.

Amen.

Continued prayers promised for you and for John…Know you are loved and not alone in your struggles…God will lead you andhelp you in all ways…spiritual, mental, health and his abiding love with help to soften John’s heart and heal yours. I love you, my dear friend…Diane

Cassie,
I will pray for John. You know I have heard that the Lord sometimes needs to break a man down, in order to rebuild him and make him a better man. Something tells me the Lord is watching over him. He is listening to our prayers and will be rebuild him a better man. Send John a rosary, a metal or a palm cross…encourage him to pray. It is never too late. That is probably what he needs to hear.

God Meant It For Good
by Jon Walker

“… You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result …” (Genesis 50:20 NIV)
Code:
Editor’s note – Although I know we offered this devotional recently, it teaches the absolute necessity for applying our faith to the past, to the present, and to the future. How will you allow the living water from Christ’s fountain to flow this year into the deepest crevices of your memories, fears, anxieties, and hopes? – jw
The life of Joseph was anything but peaceful. It was filled with youthful folly, broken dreams, and the mean-spirited actions of others. Yet he remained a man remarkable for his lack of bitterness or regret, always seeing God as the “Great Engineer” behind even the worst of circumstances.
In a final confrontation with his brothers, he graciously noted, “You meant it for bad; God meant it for good.”
The theology packed in that statement is astounding. ‘God meant it for good means –
You can accept the past – No sin, no action, no choice on your part is too big for God to handle – or too big to be worked for the good of those who love him and are called according to his name. Just ask Joseph. Better yet, ask his fearful and famished brothers, who were forced to rely on him for survival.
You can embrace the present – There’s no need to play the ‘what if’ game. The past is gone, and no energy you expend will ever change it. The future is in God's omnipotent hands, so you’re free to focus on the present. Your job is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, trusting him to forgive the past and transform the future. Martyred missionary Jim Eliot once wrote, “Wherever you are, be all there,” not living in the past and not fantasizing about the future. God wants you in the present because that’s where his grace will flow.
You can look expectantly toward the future – Even if you make mistakes today, God still controls your future. Walking in the Spirit, you can live life to the fullest, unafraid of making mistakes and unconcerned you may stumble into some terrible circumstance that takes you out of God's control. Even when things appear to be terrible, you can trust that God is working out some divine plan through you.
What does this mean?
· No matter how bad things get – God is still able to bring good out of it. Today, thank God that nothing – no disaster, no delay – is bigger that his ability to turn it into something good and godly.
· Thank God and let go – Thank God that he is sovereign over your past, your present, and your future. Give God the circumstances, disasters, hindrances, hurts, and sins from your past. Give God your current situation, your disasters, hindrances, hurts, and sins of today. Praise God that he can work anything in your future for godly good, that you can walk in confidence that there is nothing anyone can do to you, or anything you can do that will be beyond the reach of God’s Grace and redemption.
· Look for God’s hand – Walking by faith means you see God’s hand even in the most difficult of circumstances. You trust in his ability and his willingness to transform the bad into godly good. God is not limited by people’s motives. In other words, it does not matter why someone hurt you; God can still transform a deliberate, mean-spirited situation into something for his good.
· What will you allow God to change? – There it is: some situation, or event, or person in your life who, as far as you can tell, “meant it for bad.” How do you think God meant it for good? Ask God what he wants you to do with this situation (event or person). When he answers, do it.

Jesus please give healing to Cassie’s marriage.
St Michael, please defend it.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God, cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

Continued prayers promised for your and your hubby. The editor’s note was well written and a good reminder (especially for me)…I love you my friend…Diane

Cassie, thank you for the updates…I was so happy to hear that John sent you those roses and sorrowful to hear of his deep depression and your great worry. I agree with you: John is a good man, but he needs help and prayer. I went to Mass this morning and remembered you and John, as I did at the vigil Mass on Saturday. Still praying for the strengthening of your marriage and of your love for one another and for Christ, and for all those who have martial problems, and also for your mother and son. (I’m so glad you got that phone-call! :))

You continue to inspire me: you are indeed stronger than you thought!! Thanks be to God for His continuing Grace and Mercy. :gopray:

I will continue my prayers…

May God 's will be that this man reurns to his wife and family and provides the happiness to Cassie she so much deserves and that God heals al that are in need of healing spiritually, financially, health wise, in Jesus name amen

Praying that John will obtain the medical help that he needs; that, if medication is required, it will equalize his moods; that once his psychological state is freed of its pendulum swings, he may think rationally and decide rationally about the future of two souls and one marriage. May the Lord lead him back to the unity of matrimony. Amen.
