Please Pray for my Husband

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now,
and at the hour of our death.

Your confusion is natural, as is your feeling of frustration at waiting. Don’t give in to temptation to quit. Your battle is closer to being won than you think it is. Trust me, I cannot tell you how many times I would spend months praying for something to happen and then give up, only to learn later that I was very nearly at the finishing line.

I advise you to pray for your husband a special prayer that I used for mine. When you say the name of Jesus three times with full reverence and as if you were speaking to a lover, you offer up all of the Holy Masses being said that day for your intention. I learned that in a booklet at a retreat, and I put it to use immediately.

I began to pray like this:

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I bring my husband and myself to the foot of your cross.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I beg you to sanctify the souls of my husband and me with the blood of your mercy
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to purify the souls of my husband and me with the water that flows from your side
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to heal the wounds of body, mind, and soul for my husband and me
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to baptize my husband in your Holy Name
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to confirm my husband in your graces
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to annoint my husband with your oil of leadership
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to my soul and my husband’s soul with your Holy Spirit of love.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to flood our souls with your knowledge
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to flood our souls with your wisdom
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to flood our souls with your understanding
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to flood our souls with your counsel
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to flood our souls with your fortitude

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I ask you to surround and guard us with your angels

Jesus - I place my trust in you.

Do this every day. Remember, when Moses held his arms up - the battle was won. When Moses let his arms droop, the battle was lost. You are in a war for your husband’s soul. Make no mistake. You can win the war - though you may lose a battle or two - but only if you keep your arms lifted up in prayer and don’t let yourself get talked into giving up. If you get discouraged, go read Hosea. He’s certainly been there.

I recommend journaling. You can track your emotions and feelings better this way. And you can also use it to release negative emotions and feelings. This is how I communicate to the Lord. I write to Him…and believe it or not…He clears my mind.

I continue to pray for you my friend.

I have not posted for awhile because of working long hours, computer problems and family issues.

John is currently home. He came back in time for my birthday which was April 28th and will be leaving again at the end of May. I am having conflicting feelings about our situation. We are on paper legally divorced and free to see other people. I have not chosen to date or see other men, but John has, but not since he has been home, at least I don’t think so. I continue to pray about our situation and trust that God will lead me to the right choice. I still love John very much but I cannot continue to wait to find out if he wants to start new with me. We have not had a serious talk since he has been home, but we have gone out on dates and talked about other things. Right now I feel very confused, but continue to pray.

Even though I may not post as often I continue to keep all of you in my prayers, you mean so much to me and have helped me through my journey. May God bless each and everyone of you!

Lord Jesus, we cannot pray for John without praying for Cassie, since the two are one flesh. We lift them up to You, beseeching Your Divine mercy upon them. In the fulness of time, and in accordance with the Supreme Will, may hardened hearts be softened and the one flesh rejoined as on that day when they stood before you. Grant this, our Savior, in Your Heavenly, Holy and Eternal Name. Amen! Alleluia!
