Thank you all for your prayers. The interview went well.

The alumnus is the president of a great American company with top security. The alumnus only went to the office to meet with my son as it was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and the company was closed for the holiday. I drove my son to the interview and planned to wait in the parking lot. It turns out, the man came out to meet my son and noticed that he did not drive in by himself. They shook hands and started walking to the car. Oh, my goodness! He walked to the car to meet me and I got out and shook his hands and introduced myself. He was being a gentleman about not wanting me to sit in the car and wait for them. He offered to take my son home after the interview.
I don’t think that it was a negative for him to meet me - at least I hope not, but, us parents do need to stand aside in these situations. I try for the person not to meet me and plan to meet my son at a certain place after the interview. A couple of weeks ago, he was interviewed by Brown and I just dropped my son off at Starbucks and went grocery shopping at a store nearby where my son and I planned to meet when he finished. This way he is independent and I am just the chauffer.
But, It did not work out like that this time. Oh, my goodness! :blush:He also got to see where we live, which is not the fanciest place in town - but, it is our home. I think he may have taken advantage of the situation to meet the parent and see how we live. I think he got more information and it was good. Btw, leaning by his desk were two m4s like broom sticks. If anyone ever broke through security and thought the president was a sitting duck they would be in for a surprise. They had a nice and interesting conversation. He told my son that he appreciated him dressing for the occassion and that someone else he interviewed had not dressed properly for the occasion. I think it was a good interview.
Next week he has an interview with Cornell which will be conducted by an alumnus who is a medical doctor. He has not been invited for an interview by Harvard, Yale or Columbia. It’s always a good opportunity to be invited to be interviewed, but, we just have to wait.

We have to wait all the way to March 1rst to find out where he will be going. One excellent thing about Columbia is that they offer a full scholarship with not personal debt. We wait. May God’s will be done.
Thank you all so very, very, much for your prayers and support. It can get a bit stressful.
Please continue to keep my son in your prayers, it’s not over until it’s over.
Now, I have to get going with the financial aid applications

Those packages sound like serious projects (e.g. FAFSA, ICC or CCS, incomr tax reports etc…). Madonna Mama Mia!
I probably shouldn’t be writing all this stuff in the internet.
Peace,
Abba
