Saint Anthony of Padua

Holy Saint Anthony, gentle and powerful in your help, your love for God and charity for His creatures made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were always ready to request for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for sthrncatholic’s wife total health. The answer to my prayer may require a miracle. Even so, you are the Saint of Miracles. gentle and loving Saint Anthony, whose heart is ever full of human sympathy, take my petition to the Infant Savior for whom you have such a great love, and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.

Amen.

God our Father,
You gave St. André of Montreal, Your humble servant, a great devotion to St. Joseph and a special commitment to the sick and the needy.
May the example of his life and ministry inspire us to ever-greater works of charity, in generous service to our brothers and sisters in need.
Give us the strength to surrender ourselves to Your will, and to be instruments of Your loving mercy.
Help us to follow St. André’s example of prayer and love, so that we too may come into Your glory.
Through the intercession of St. André, grant the favour I now present:
I humbly ask that you guide all health care providers as they care for sthrncatholic’s wife and that you bring healing to her in body and soul according to your most holy and divine will.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Loving God,

Thank you all for your prayers. Unfortunately, she has suffered a stroke and bleeding on the brain as a result of a piece of the infectious material breaking off and traveling to her brain. However, I am 100% confident that God has a plan for her, as she has been improving slightly each day since the stroke a little over a week ago. She has begun talking a good bit more clearly and is able to write down things for us. She doesn’t have function in her left arm or leg at this time, but she does have feeling in them. It is my belief that she will continue to improve over time and that is also what the doctors believe. I know everyone’s prayers are being heard by God, since she has shown such good improvement. I have been humbled by the tremendous outpouring of love and support for her during this trying time. I ask you all to continue praying for her, as that is what has gotten her this far. Thanks and God bless you all.
Just a quick update on my wife. She has made tremendous improvement since being transferred to an (name removed by moderator)atient neurological rehab unit. She is walking now (with minimal assistance), her speech is almost 100% back to normal. She is back to eating a regular diet (versus a feeding tube which she had to use for several weeks). She is able to dress herself and do most everyday things with minimal assistance. She is still having trouble with her left arm function, but from what I understand, the arm function usually comes back after the leg function. She still has one hurdle to cross, she has a leaking heart valve that is going to need replacement and we are very nervous about that. I want to thank all of you for your prayers and ask that you please continue them. God bless you all.
