Vanessa,
You are on my mind a lot. I am praying for you. I see some of myself in you: the anxiety, the questioning, etc. I’ve been there. We are here (CAF members) to help each other on this journey. We are all praying for you and you will be fine. I place you in the loving arms of Our Blessed Mother who will care for you tenderly. Praying…

Thank you for all these beautiful prayers.
The only thing is now, that I am scared of dying while in the operation.
However, I know that this is not life threatening. So why am I so worried?
Hi Vanessa ~ I will keep you in prayer tonight before the Blessed Sacrament. I think it’s natural to get nervous about these sorts of things. It’s that fear of the unknown, I suppose. Placing your fears in Mother Mary’s loving heart. God Bless!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and in the hour of our death. Amen.

Vanessa, I will keep you in my daily prayers. Lord watch over this child of yours, keep her close to your heart. Help her to find faith in you Lord, that she may hand her fears and worries over to you, and find peace in her heart, knowing that you walk with her through her trials, with your all powerful love and mercy.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

First, thanks for all your prayers:thumbsup:

How can I offer up my sufferings, if I am going to get them corrected by surgery?

From Vanessa

Hello, I have a full - thickness rectum prolapse which I am hoping to be corrected by surgery at some point in the Summer months.(July or August)

I also have a small breast lump, which I am planning to remove very soon.

Please pray for me.
I remember you in the mass I am about to go to.
God bless.

From Vanessa
You are suffering with them right now, offer them now. Jesus was resurrected and ascended to heaven after he suffered and died. The fact that you will have these ailments corrected by surgery does not mean your suffering never happened. I’m sure your anxiety is one of your greatest sufferings, that’s something that probably won’t be corrected with surgery (if you’re anything like me).

God grants us sufferings and trials often for our spiritual benefit. Maybe you would be helped by Fr. Paul O’Sullivan’s short essay on Suffering.

I should read it myself again. You remain in my prayers Vanessa, I pray for your surgeons as well. May God bless you and keep you!

Thank you for this sweet essay! If you have any others like this, Please PM me the links.

This is so encouraging.

At the moment I am going to a retreat in my parish, where an exorist is talking. He talked a lot about the link between sin and suffering.

I was going to ask him, if a rectum prolapse could be from the devil.
I thought that this might heal me.

Now i am not sure what to do. Please Respond. PM me if you have any advice.

Do speak with your priest, ask him about the spiritual benefits of suffering and how you might be able to use your suffering from the rectum prolapse for the benefit of yourself and others spiritually. Also ask him if you can receive the sacrament of Extreme Unction (also called Anointing of the Sick or Last Rites) , especially immediately prior to your surgery. You should receive this sacrament any time you go under anesthesia (in my opinion).

There is such a thing as a healing mass which I’ve heard of but have never seen. Ask your priest about this as well.

Vanessa,
I totally agree with BeeSweet! As for healing Masses, I have been to many of them and they are awesome. You would not believe the powerful anointing that is felt. Miracles can happen during these Masses. I would strongly advise attending one. They have helped me tremendously. I’ll be praying for you!

Thank you BeeSweet! for this very helpful essay. I have printed it off, and will keep it with my bible, for future reference.
God Bless! Keeping you all in my prayers. :gopray:

Keeping you in my prayers Vanessa, please keep us updated. God bless you, and guide your surgeon’s hands!

Will be keeping you in prayer, Vanessa. Give us a reminder when your surgery date is coming up so that we can all pray for you that day. I usually say some general prayers for everyone, but I do like to say special prayers for certain occasions/situations. God bless you!

Thanks for all of your prayers!

The surgery correcting the rectum prolapse will be in Summer. I do not know when yet.

Who can I pray to regarding this condition?

From Vanessa

Holy Angels and Saints -
You who know how personally this poster’s request touches my heart from past experiences. Help them to be healed.

Blessed Mother -
You have shown me many signs in recent months to give me hope. Please give Vanessa that peace.

Dear God -
Please grant all that is right and good and healing for Vanessa. O Divine Physician, guide the physician’s hands. Amen.

From Vanessa
Vanessa, you offer them up now. Each morning, and each evening, offer them up to Christ. By all means, have your surgery, and do not worry, as the Lord also created the doctors, nurses and technicians who will care for you. His hand is in all of this. He does not desire that you continue to suffer a physical ailment for which He has created a solution. The Lord is concerned about your spiritual health. He will raise your body at the resurrection, but not if your spirit is troubled.

You frequently receive communion, so frequently receive the other Sacrament which is to be repeated: Reconciliation. Once your spiritual health has been restored, do not let your heart be troubled over your body. The Lord is in charge and His will must be prayed for and striven toward.

He has graciously revealed the nature of paradise to us. We must desire more than merely our lives on this earth - rather an eternity with Him in his Kingdom. My guess is that the Lord sees something else which He wants to accomplish through you, so do not despair over the surgery. I have spouted cerebro-spinal fluid leaks in two surgeries, which could have easily lead to meningitis and the end of me. BUT, the Lord had more for me to do, so here I am.

Be at peace and know that God loves you so much that He has brothers and sisters in Christ all over the world praying for you, and your Angel ministering to you.

Christ’s peace.
