Please pray that Northern Illinois University does not become a victim like Virginia Tech

niu.edu/alert/campus_alert.shtml This evening someone wrote on a dorm restroom wall, a Virginia Tech style shooting tomorrow, particularly targeting a minority race.

Please pray this is only a ruse, and not an actual possibility.
Pray for the safety of everyone on campus as well.
Pray for the person who is inflicting this fear, that he/she receive the necessary psych treatment to heal their anger/violence.

Please St.Philomena pray for us.
Blessed Mother , remember us…as we flee for your protection.
 
That something like this could happen is almost impossible to believe…except that it really does happen…

Merciful Lord, through Your Divine intercession, soften the hearts of those who are far from You, turning them from hatred and anger toward mercy and love. Send Your Holy Angels to guide and care for the students and faculty, that they may walk through their day in blessed peace and under Heavenly care. I ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen.
 
My son used to work at NIU and there are many good people there that are friends of his. I pray for their safety and that God will protect them from harm.

Two aspects of this threat stand out. First, they appear to be anonymous - which indicates a lack of veracity and courage. Second, look at the timing - right before finals. Given human nature, this appears to be strategic in nature, attempting to delay finals, which is exactly what it did. Pray for the pathetic soul who made such a threat out of total concern for self.

Heavenly Father, please preserve from violent sin the people of the campus of Northern Illinois University and all schools and places in the world. Amen. :signofcross:
