First of all, @angel12, you would be wise to actually investigate the entire conversation first.

Secondly, @TheLittleLady, I never accused you of anything. I said that spitting on someone is assault. Also, your post indicated the scenario to be hypothetical, not that it actually happened. And how disgusting! The fact that your family member decided not to press charges is his/her choice. I don’t blame him/her, given that the whole rigamarole with the courts costs time and money.

My comment was true and in general: There have been numerous fake crimes and false police reports filed just for people to get attention.

Third, here’s a question for everyone else: When’s the last time you’ve seen a Muslim, Reform Jew, an atheist not named Dave Rubin or a Protestant defend Catholics?

You ever notice how it’s always US who take the high road here?

It is worth pointing out that in the Middle East, Christian men, women and children are being beheaded, blown up and crucified by “ignorant bigots,” so the phenomenon isn’t limited to the south or northeast of the USA, it is a worldwide problem. Jewish believers are moving out of Paris and Europe generally because of more than merely being spit upon. Acid thrown into the faces of, mostly, women in London are becoming much more frequent, to say nothing of bombings, truck attacks, mass killings, etc., throughout Europe and the ME.
So? The fact that it happens to Christians and Jewish people, or atheists for that matter, doesn’t justify it or make it okay in any way for people to do to Muslims. I pretty much skipped the whole rest of your post because no one is claiming that those who abuse or persecute Christians, Jews etc get a “free pass” and the fact that you even led off with this shows a giant missing of my point in favor of some type of unnecessary self-justification.

I could go on and on
Well, no actually, I don’t think that you could. The fact that you had to go outside of the USA for your very first one tells me that you don’t have any more cases to go on to.

In fact, there very likely have been more false or feigned “attacks” on Muslims in the US that have made headlines initially and then when the truth came out, that these were actually hoaxes, that little detail was not reported. So there is definitely an impression left by the media that such attacks are “epidemic,” but I doubt they are as prevalent as we have been led to believe.
Hatred of Muslims is epidemic
I doubt that four or five “big” cases are sufficient to establish that an epidemic is occurring. Certainly there have been more Islamic jihad terrorist attacks, with far more casualties, and I haven’t seen your declaration of an “epidemic” where those are concerned. Is there an “epidemic” of acid attacks in London? Please answer this before going on the 'net to research – I want to ascertain whether your intuitive sense of “epidemics” is indeed an accurate marker for your determination of them.

I was saying in a general sense, Globally this year 2017 is the year, all time high of Christians being persecuted, and many of the authorities are turning a blind eye or they are not yet caught.

My FDIL is Muslim, the things that are said and done to her are shocking. The “Bible Belt” southerners will spit on a woman because she is wearing a bright pink hijab.
Saying that Bible Belters will do this is generalizing and insulting. So much so that Muslims and other minority groups (sadly enough) have to invent hate crimes to get attention.
this happened more than once to my family member.

That’s a lot of explaining. Is it so hard to apologize?

The issue, as far as I can tell – which never seems to get directly addressed – is that spitting on women wearing hijabs is not a Biblical injunction, as far as Bible Belters seeking justification are concerned, but there are Qur’anic grounds for the mistreatment of Jews and Christians, as far as practitioners of Islam are concerned.
This is the essence of the issue.

What I read from that post was that we have an unequal scenario here.

People who are beheading Christians and throwing acid in Christian women’s faces are doing it because of our religious beliefs. They are raping them because Christian women have different rights in their religion. It is not rape in Sharia Law if it is a non-Muslim. It can be wrong, but it isn’t rape.

People who are spitting on Muslim women are doing it because Muslims are raping innocent women, disfiguring innocent women, and killing innocent people all over the world, in our own countries.

People hurting Christians are wrongly committing hate crimes due to who the people are and what they believe: non Muslims.

People doing theses things to Muslims are wrongly committing hate crimes because of fear and anger at the horrible things Islamic people are doing all over the world. Today. This year.

On the one hand, people are religiously motivated to destroy another religion. On the other, people are motivated by fear and anger to protect their country, their faith, or their families from a religious ideology that is actively waging war against them: jihad.

No innocent person deserves to be treated badly. That doesn’t make the reasoning behind what is done equal.

This post has been going quite a while and I hope the OP understands both his own faith and why coexsistance is important. I pray ISIS and extremism is defeated for a good long time, and healing can begin.

What was needed was a clarification, not an apology on my end. I only went with what was said on here.

That being said, spitting on someone is very detestable and I’m sorry that it happened. It’s criminal assault.

First of all, “super"Luigi,” that’s actually what YOU need to do. If you had actually read my posts, and the posts to which they were responding, you would understand what was being said, and saved yourself the embarassment of attempting a pathetic excuse for an insult. Do try to keep up.

You have a blessed day, sweetie.

It really bothers me that people on the Western left think we are just going to sit there and take their hogwash (that’s as nice as I can put it on here) and let the First World die out and succumb to the likes of Russia, China, North Korea and radical Islam.

I won’t ever defend someone spitting on someone, but the lack of intellectual inconsistency is nausetaing—but not unexpected.

It drives me crazy, too.

My underage daughter can not get her ears pierced without my consent, but she can get transgender therapy or birth control or an abortion without my knowledge.

Intellectual inconsistency. It’s the calling card of Satan. God is so intricate and detailed and consistent. Such a complete contrast.

They can’t assign Christian literature in public schools, but they can assign sexually explicit material?

If you murder a pregnant woman it is rightfully a double homicide. But abortion is not a single homicide.

A doctor can be sued for malpractice for a delivery that harms the baby, but if the doctor deliberately kills the baby it isn’t malpractice. As long as the biological mother agrees.

That kind of logic is always the calling card of evil. “Nauseating, but not unexpected.” Too right.

I’m not sure we can describe acid attacks as generally done by Muslims. I think it’s more about culture than religion, and the problem
in London is somewhat different than in most other countries.

Acid attacks have become popular in the UK because they have gun control and knife control. It’s pretty easy to go down to the supermarket or hardware store and find an acid (or a caustic base) to throw at someone.

Which is why they are now thinking about laws for drain cleaner control.

That said, there is a fair amount of acid attacking in Muslim countries that don’t have gun control or knife control, and most of the attacks tend to be against women. Same thing with scalding water attacks, grease fire attacks, etc.

I don’t know enough about it to say for sure. I have only heard of those attacks being done by Islamic persons. I’m sure there are examples of others doing the same. Maybe they aren’t publicized as widely? I tend to think the vast majority would be done by people connected to Islam, based on what I “know.”

Well, here’s one thing I read:
acidviolence.org

In
2016, in London alone, corrosive substances were used in 454 crimes. In
the UK, unlike many countries, men make up the majority of victims.

Apparently it is more “gang-related” in London, it’s not only a way to control women and girls.

I read that Colombia is also a hot-spot for acid violence, which I don’t think is heavily Muslim, right?
