Pocket Size Catholic Bible?

Hi y’all,

I have been carrying around a pocket size Gideon’s New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs. This is a Protestant translation and organization that publishes it but I like the way it fits into my pocket to carry with me all the time. I removed the pages in it that are the intro or end that have the Protestant plan of salvation and stuff and replaced them with prayers in Latin.

I was just wondering, are there any really good Catholic Bible’s that are more pocket sized? Not just paper back but like that faux-leather feel to them or hardbound? I would want something that stays more in the 5" by 3" by 1/2" size to them.

Do you have a smart phone? That seems to be the way that things are going. If not, you could get bigger pockets :), I have shorts with cargo pockets on the sides which allows me to carry my Ignatius New Testament and Psalms (which is a little bigger than your requirements), or my kindle or ipad mini (which both have Bibles).

I own that one and I love the translation and the footnotes. Recently, I picked up a 1952 Confraternity New Testament on eBay for only a few dollars. Excellent condition, with the clear, solid notes and intros that the bible is known for. For example, Mary was still “full of grace” in this edition. Another option: for 9.95, Scepter Publishers offers a brand new reprint of the Confraternity (1941) New Testament. It is 5" by 3". This is a little known, but excellent 100% Catholic translation that, lamentably, has been eclipsed by the NAB. Have a look.
 
EWTN sells a pocket size confraternity bible with NT. No psalms or proverbs though. It comes with a cover already attached.

Yes! That appears to be the Scepter Publishers version. It is great that the Confraternity translation is in print.

I wish a publisher would make a pocket-sized New Testament translated by Ronald Knox. And if it was burgundy or red it would be even better.

I would consider that the ultimate edition, and is something I would carry with me everywhere.
