I am looking threw the world of politics, tring to determine where to stand on issues (i.e. welfare, taxes, seperation of Church and state ect.) and I was hoping that some of you could suggest some books that take a fair look at issues or a political forum (like this place is for religion)? I would so tottally apreciate any help you all could give me. Thanks and God bless.

I’ll add the Constitution of the United States and the Declaration of Independence. For deeper study, the Federalist Papers and Debate on the Constitution.

I agree! Try as you might you will not find a Separation of Church and state clause in the Constitution. These are America’s documents that govern the way our nation works - one book I have heard is good is

The Heritage Guide to the Constitution
by Edwin Meese, ed.

You might also try The Wealth of Nations, by Adam Smith. This is the seminal book on modern economics – first published in 1776.

The reason I say this is that a lot of people like simplistic solutions to problems that anyone with a basic understanding of economics would know would fail.
