President Trump is regaining his footing in Texas as Joe Biden (D) slips in the polls nationwide, a recently released Dallas Morning News /UT-Tyler poll showed.

According to the survey, taken August 28 to September 2, Trump is strengthening in the Lone Star State, leading his Democrat opponent by two percentage points, 48 percent to 46 percent. According to the Dallas Morning News , that represents a significant shift in the president’s direction, given that he trailed the former vice president by five points in July.

“Trump is ahead,” Mark Owens, the poll’s director, said. . . .

Is it only “spin” on reports of Trump ahead in the polls?

Or in states where Biden is ahead in the polls is THAT spin too?

Would you mind linking me to one of your posts calling a Biden poll lead “spin” please?

Well, first I would have to find a poll that says Biden is only up by 2 in California, which don’t exist, and then find someone who says this is good news for Biden. So, I probably won’t be able to find one.
That’s OK.

You can just tell me how full of baloney the Beto polls that said he was going to beat Cruz were in the last Texas Senate race.

You can do that right now if you want.

Thbolt changes my premise from polls to “latest polls before the election” . . .
Hmm, all of the polls show Cruz winning and the average of the latest polls before the election show Cruz up by 7 in an election he won by 3.
This is the fallacy of equivocation Thbolt is using on you.

.

For everybody else. I remember seeing many bogus polls. Beto with enormous outside help spent about 80 million dollars to try to take that Senate seat . . .

Beto O’Rourke leads Ted Cruz by 2 among likely voters in U.S. Senate race, new poll finds

O’Rourke has been closing the gap over the last several months, but this is the first poll that puts him ahead of Cruz.

If a GOP candidate can’t win heartily in TX they are in deep trouble. When is the last time TX went blue?

Trump has Hillary’s problem: He can go large in TX but he needs electoral votes nationwide to get to 270. TX is a large state and the electoral college really works against large state voters. It takes 177,556 votes in WY to cast one electoral vote for president. However, it takes 715,500 people in TX to cast one electoral vote!

The electoral college is a relic of slavery and racial discrimination. Maybe its time to eliminate it.

Oh, it definitely is. I would prefer a national popular vote, but I worry about the paralysis if a recount is required (see Florida, 2000). Maybe keeping the electoral college, but reducing the number of votes to get the number of members in the House of Representatives.
If we had national polling, a close vote in FL or botched returns, would not have mattered. Bush was not going to have a 500,000 plurality in FL, i.e., 16% of the vote. Instead he won by what, 250 votes? That’s about 1% of FL but he got ALL of FL’s electoral votes. How is that fair or democratic?

The Electoral College is built into the Constitution. Perhaps the winner-take-all should be revisited though. It serves no healthy purpose.

How is it fair that all the coastal states, blue BTW would determine or
Our president?🤨 No thanks. The Electoral college is the most equitable

You think Trump reads CAF? I guess he could…

(Hey. We gotta have a little fun here on CAF right Feanor2?)

Texas is also a changing state. Mainly because a lot of liberals have left their states to take up residence in places like Austin, and begin to destroy their new home by voting Democrat.
Good point.
I feel that by 2030 it will be a solid blue state no matter what the conservative candidate does.
I hope and pray you are wrong here.

Like ‘three fifths of a man’?
That’s another flaw. I’m surprised no movement has taken place to fix it.
Hillary supporters and others
attempted to make it zero fifths in some cases.

Many Trump supporters are still trying to right that.
