Yes, my church not only passed out the postcards, but it even picked them up and paid for the postage. The response was quite good, and in fact they had to print more cards because so many people wanted to send them. I also saw them when I visited my dad’s church last week.

Of course Catholics are going to send the postcards. It really takes minimal effort. I’ve been wondering, though–is this going to make a difference? Is there something bigger we can do?

Join me at next year’s March for Life in DC:thumbsup:

…and help crisis pregnancy centers, pray, educate, help fund the purchase 3D ultrasound machines… There are lots of things to do

We have about 27,000 registered parishioners and we had the FOCA postcard campaign at every mass last weekend.
I support this action very much.

I also second what JP2weloveyou has said… also, write letters to your congressmen, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, and other “fallen” Catholic politicians.

The parish I attend frequently also has set up a cross for each baby that has been aborted thus far this year in Knoxville, TN. This parish is on the side of a very busy highway, and it is impossible to miss all of the crosses (and flowers laid at the “graves”). I can’t remember who said it (Niechtze, I want to say), a single death is a tragedy, but a million is a statistic. Trying to make a more “personalized” approach such as this could at least plant a seed or two.

And most importantly, PRAY WITHOUT CEASING!

Hi, Ericka. Any photos online of the baby-crosses? Or might you be able to post some some time? (“some some”?). I would think that serves as a powerful statement to passers-by.

My parish has had the FOCA postcard parties for at least the last two Sundays.

The weekend before last we signed a postcard each for both U.S. Senators and the House Representative. A table was set up outside the church. There was a donation basket for postage and volunteers mailed the cards to ensure that they were sent. May the influx of communication change even one heart!

Personal letters also mean much, as they are usually answered. I found that at least one Senator’s voice mail box was full and no message could be left. Thus a snail mail letter may be best.

Unfortunately, there are no pics online of this particular display, but if you do a google image search of “abortion crosses”, you’ll get the idea of what it looks like. I will try to post a pic… if I can get my mom to part with her camera for a couple of hours (the parish is 35 miles away)… My cell phone doesn’t even have a camera on it…

I got goosebumps the first time (and each subsequent time) I saw the display, and I say a prayer of thanksgiving for the parish and the priest everytime I see it (well, more than that… but especially when I see it). Both are very active with pro-life, and the priest is especially orthodox and traditional. God has blessed us all here with them.
