“China’s propaganda starts even earlier than college. China has targeted K-12 schools around the world,” he said. “Do you know that we have no ability to establish similar programs in China? We should have reciprocity in all things. Today they have free reign in our system and we’re completely shut out from theirs… Beijing knows that today’s kids are tomorrow’s leaders.”
and Christianity is not allowed in the Middle East yet Mosques are rising in the US at a record pace.

…two strong forces fighting to degrade American values.

Fear is the first tool in the aspiring dictator’s toolkit. This announcement by Pompeo is a perfect example of that.

Last week, well before Pompeo’s announcement. I discovered that the herbal supplement I bought was made in China. Now that is something to be afraid of.

It is well known on college campuses that China attempts to penetrate IT all day everyday.

I am thankful the Trump administration is taking a stand.

It’s an election year. I think the parties are leveraging China especially because of the Wuhan Flu issue. But there’s been a lot of talk about Huawei and others in tech circles. Technologically, China owns us. It would take extraordinary effort to extricate ourselves from the relationships that we have forged with China, so there will be some cosmetic efforts and a lot of fearmongering on both sides.

It’s interesting, though. China seems to be a bipartisan issue: Democrats and Republicans can agree they’re evil, but not on how to deal with them.

Of course other countries try to influence us, just as we do others, that Golden Rule thing. In this case, China has an easy way to turn Americans against each other, using a “Yellow Scare” like the Red Scare of the McCarthy era. All they need is a patsy to get it cranked up, starting all the fear-mongering talk about how Chinese sympathizers are in every nook and cranny.

I suggest that you show me where Christians flourish in the Middle East.

The point is that the USA is being stressed by at least a couple of outside forces that don’t have American interest at heart.
These are dangerous times for Americans.

These two oppositions are emollient factors for much of the disruption in the USA.
These two oppositions don’t need to like each other to cause USA disruption.
Winner takes all as far as they are concerned.

Actually, 88 days until we see how many Americans haven’t lost their compass.

Americans haven’t been fooled yet.

Ban of ‘various’ foreign nationals to the US is legal and like apple pie, Mark Twain 🍎 would be agreeable today.
Americans will exercise their right to vote in November.

Sounds like a good idea…going to bake an American apple pie now.

Let me be the judge.

Send me some of your Irish apples to me and I’ll do a taste test.

I promise to be impartial.

The USA doesn’t give preference to religion in it’s laws. Religious buildings of any religion or no religion can be built here. This is in no way dependent on what restrictions the rest of the world has in place.

I suggest you look at the Middle East a bit more a carefully before making such a sweeping generalisation as that.

I read this too quickly and panicked. I thought it said mosquitoes where rising at a record pace.

But mosques? What gives? The Chinese government isn’t exactly pro-Islam. Someone needs more education, or at least learn to keep the apocalyptic alt-right talking points clear and separate.

I would say it’s more like “green peril”. All kinds of American organizations are cozying up to China for money, either expected or realized. That includes our colleges and universities. China pays full tuition in cash for its students that it sends here.

Ridgerunner tosses a couple of Arkansas Black apples; one to Sarcelle and one to JHarek. Kind of strained my shoulder tossing the latter of the two, but made it.
