Apparently this has become a universal problem, not just an American phenomenon. Sad that this is a real concern everywhere. But I am grateful that our Pope has made this his concern as well. Perhaps if we pray together, united with a common concern, lives can be spared.

I would say that road rage is worse in other places than here in America. Go to the Bahamas where, regardless of light color(if there is one at an intersection) the right of way goes to the person whose horn honks the loudest and longest. If you have ever seen depictions of NY taxis, thats pretty much every car in the Bahamas.

And then there are places like LOndon where roads are so packed with cars that you seem to be going nowhere.

Having spent months at a time in the Bahamas as a consultant, I found the drivers there to be risk takers, but not mean spirited “ragers”. Very often a honk is used to say “after you” and “thanks”, but this would be lost on someone who wasn’t a “true true Bahamian”. The Bahamian “easy breezy” mentality just doesn’t fit road rage.

Now I crave conch salad with a Kalik, wonder if they have more work for me?

Dude cruises around in a bullet proof Pope Mobile, he has no worries. 😛

The pope’s recent reflection by itself seems barely newsworthy. However, in combination with those 10 Commandments, there seems to be an odd preoccupation with driving.

Try driving in the Philippines! My kids say that I swear only when I drive! There are no rules that people follow. First come first serve n intersections. No tests for a driver’s license. Patience is a must.

I wonder how long it’s been since Pope Benedict actually got behind the wheel himself…on the Autobahn…bet he misses it… Like Pope John Paul and his tennis shoes, maybe Pope Benedict has a pair of leather driving gloves stashed away, y’think? Vrrrrrrrroooooooooooooooommmmm…

Gee, I didn’t know that road rage was wrong. I’m glad the Pope got me straightened out.
