But what if a person posited an perspective that all matters are important?

It is not the first time I’ve been told I am too pro life to be a pro lifer, won’t be the last time.
Congrats and kudos to you! 🙂

All matters are important. But in any given year some truths are widely remembered and others widely forgotten. Some evils are accepted, others not much.

The Church should affirm all truths and refute all errors, but not equally in all times. The most dangerous errors are those defined by the current establishment as truths, or, in the case of pro choice, as a sacred cause.

Perhaps he is encouraging expectant mothers (and fathers) to think about what it means to hire an abortionist to kill your child.
The statement is quite direct and places responsibility for the choice on the one who makes it.

But it flies in the face of all those who say we shouldn’t prosecute the mother for abortions.

The dominant culture says we shouldn’t punish anyone for abortions. Why would that be a guide for us?

I don’t see Pope Francis as prosecuting; rather I see him as challenging people to think before they act and to avoid occasions of sin.
He is pointing to moral culpability.
Prosecution is something done by the state, not by the pope.

I no longer agree with incrementalism. I firmly believe that laws with loopholes are paper tigers. I believe the stand “except for rape/incest/health” is a pro abortion stance.
