The Pope urged these bishops from the U.S. who came before him in Rome to respond to a crisis in marriage, the family, and in human sexuality. He mentioned cohabitation, gay marriage and the widespread rejection of a sexual ethic grounded in the virtue of chastity. This crisis leads to grave social problems with immense human and economic cost, he said. Mentioning that there had been a failure in religion instruction, the Pope asked them to carry out a renewal of unambiguous witness to Christian morality. All our efforts in this area, he said at the end, are ultimately concerned for the good of children, who have a right to grow up with a healthy understanding of human sexuality.

About time.

Only it’s WAY too late.

About two to four generations too late.
