Pope: Art Expresses the Beauty of Faith

Very nice. I’m glad to see Pope Francis recognizing the role of art in Evangelization. This Pope doesn’t dress fancy and drive around nice cars, and certainly lives a humble life, so I was afraid he wouldn’t be very supportive of the arts. A lot of people try to contrast beauty in the Church with social justice. (You know, if you really want to promote social justice, you have to destroy all the beauty in the Church. :rolleyes: )
 
I’ve read previous interviews with him where he describes his favorite artists. I love much of the religious art from the Renaissance. It’s stunningly beautiful. There’s no need to excise beauty while pursuing a simpler life.
