Pope Benedict admits evidence for evolution

I’d really have to read the Pope’s writings regarding this issue. Personally I believe it’s still the THEORY of evolution. Scientifically it has yet to be proven. Ever think the Devil and Darwin were close?

We all should know that the knowledge of the specific methods God used to create all that is and ever shall be is absolutely NOT necessary for salvation… BUT, there is irrefutable evidence that the theory of evolution has ruined many of my friends’ faith and not once has there been a case where this theory brought one towards the Lord God (that I know of).

Personally, i see no sticking evidence that even promotes the theory of evolution. All of the early church fathers except one (i think this was Origen, I could be mistaken) believed that the universe was created just as God had explained it (this is what was taught all throughout man’s existence up until recent ages). The schools i grew up in taught evolution as a fact although it never has been classified as such.

I’d love to discuss this with anybody here on this website, because I’m open to TRUTH… not just sticking with what I already believe. It’s just that everything that has to do with macro evolution has been proven wrong so far…

I recommend everyone to read a book titled ā€œThe Evolution Cruncherā€ as it is free for everybody to read here on the internet. Here is a link evolution-facts.org/Downloads/Evolution%20CruncherP.pdf

P.S. I agree with you 100% jdnation!

You say ā€œruined many of my friends’ faithā€. How? What do they now believe about God?

From Ken Ham’s book: The Lie: Evolution**

"Evolution has been popularized and presented as scientific truth, and many Christians have added evolutionary belief to their biblical belief in God as Creator. Thus, while many Christians acknowledge that God created, they believe He used the process of evolution to bring all things into being. This is usually called ā€œtheistic evolution.ā€ (57)

ā€œEvolutionist would say death and struggle led to man’s existence. The Bible says man’s rebellious actions led to death. These statements cannot both be true. One denies the other- they are diametrically opposed. That is why those who claim to hold both positions at the same time (theistic evolutionists) are destroying the basis of the gospel. If life formed in an onward ā€œprogression,ā€ how did man fall upward? What is sin? Sin would then be an inherited animal characteristic, not something due to the fall of man through disobedience. The many Christians who accept the belief of evolution and add God to it destroy the very foundation of the gospel message they profess to believe.ā€ (89)

** "Even atheists realize the inconsistency in Christians believing in evolution, as seen in a quotation from an article by G. Richard Bozarth entitled ā€œThe Meanin of Evolution,ā€ from The American Atheist. ā€œChristianity is - must be - totally committed to the special creation as described in Genesis, and Christianity must fight with all its full might, fair or foul, against the theory of evolution. . . . It becomes clear now that the whole justification of Jesus’ life and death is predicted on the existence of Adam and the forbidden fruit he and Eve ate. Without the original sin, who needs to be redeemed? Without Adam’s fall into a life constant sin terminated by death, what purpose is there to Christianity? None.ā€ (90)

"Original sin, with death as a result, is the basis of the gospel. That is why Jesus Christ came and what the gospel is all about. If the first Adam is only an allegorical figure, then why not the Last Adam (1 Cor. 15:45-46), Jesus Christ? If man did not really fall into sin, there is no need for a Savior. Evolution destroys the very foundations of Christianity because it states, ā€œDeath is, and always has been, part of life.ā€ (92)

I had friends with me growing up in the Church (I’m a cradle Catholic). I also attended the same schools as they did. We were constantly taught that we evolved from rocks and monkeys and slime and that the all life had a common ancestor. My friends, Sean and John, started questioning God and His existence because of what they were being taught in school (we were constantly being told that the earth is millions of years old and the universe is billions of years old). Sean stopped attending Mass because of this and a bad experience with one of the priests and my friend John stopped believing in God all together, becoming a humanist… all thanks to the theory of evolution.

I also believed all that nonsense until i became interested in researching the matter explicitly and thoroughly on the evidences for the age of the earth and what was taught throughout history before the ā€œold earthā€ theory came into imagination. I was in my first year of college when i became interested in which one was true (or had the most reasonable facts backing it). With all of the research I’ve done on this matter, I explained how I believe in the story of the Creation as told in the book of Genesis and showed evidences (TRUE evidence, scientific observable and testable evidence) for why I believe this to anybody who asked me…

In one case, there were two guys that started talking to me about evolution in my college lobby area (where we all hung out and played games). I went through most of the ā€˜evidences’ for macro evolution and explained logically and with scientific proof how it’s impossible to ever occur (without the help of a supreme being of course, God can do anything ^_^). That very next day, both of them became Christians… although i don’t know if they attended Mass or any other church’s services because i hardly talked to them after they moved out of the dorms.

There are, of course, other talks that I’ve been in where the theory of evolution has been the excuse of many of the people I associate with and their reasons for not believing in God.There are also many talks I’ve endured with evolutionists who I have brought TO the Lord by explaining how macro evolution is impossible on its own using science and facts. This is why I say that the theory of evolution is destructive for the human soul while trusting in how God said He created all that is will strengthen the faith of man towards God.

It is sad that science is being used this way. The Catholic Church has always taught that God must be involved in the creation of man regardless of what science might say. It is a fact that no established scientific group in the United States refers to Evolution as anything other than the Theory of Evolution.

The human being consists of two parts, the physical and the spiritual. The physical is corruptible but the spiritual is not. That is why Jesus said we must be born again.

For a time, due to the authority of the source, I thought that water and amino acids might give rise to life. I see that is not possible. We are living in an age where many are told that in order to accept Reason we must abandon the Cross of Christ.

God bless,
Ed
