It’s a video. I found it on Weather Channel.

Awesome. The kiss of God
Jesus is just reminding the world before they start rubbing their hands at the demise of the Catholic Church that He’s still the boss, and the gates of hell haven’t prevailed ! get down satan, you whipper-snapper ! :knight2:

According to the list of cardinal electors posted on another thread, this name is not among them.
Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor is 80 years old, and thus ineligible to participate in the papal conclave.

Theoretically his successor as archbishop of Westminster, Vincent Nichols, could have been named a cardinal. When he was passed over, it raised a few eyebrows. As Santi2 mentioned, England does not have a vote in this conclave.

Actually, what we need is EXACTLY a Pope who will condemn what is wrong…someone not afraid to (figuratively) march down the aisle and grab members of the flock by the ear when they try to sneak away.

The Holy Father has told the faithful of his intentions. We have come to know and love him and that isn’t going to change. Our Lord will decide who will fill the shoes of St. Peter - thank goodness we don’t have secular political stage plays to go through. We say our prayers and sometimes we find an alert signal going off that we need to focus our prayers with all the attention of our soul. One thing is for sure, the enemy will try to throw into the mix the most disturbing reasons and future forecast to cause divisiveness and confusion. May we all pray with extra intensity for Pope Benedict and Our Holy Church. Thank you Lord for letting me be baptized as a baby and growing up living the Faith. Please help me to keep it always.

On one level I am very sad to hear the news of Pope Benedict’s decision to resign.
I am sad because Benedict is a great man who enjoys God’s favour.

On another level, I can understand his decision to resign. The burden is huge and with failing health the Pope, reluctantly, has decided to resign from the Papacy.
That decision to do so takes enormous courage.

The Pope is in my thoughts and prayers.

I wish him well and I wish him good health - and I thank him for his work.

I think his decision is a noble one. He defiantly must have thought about the seriousness of it since it hasn’t been done in quite some time. As I think of it, the more I understand why he would do this. He doesn’t want to become so frail that he is unable to fulfill his position. Doing so could possibly leave the church vulnerable.

Yup, I figured yesterday would be the game changer with the statistics…
I am still :bigyikes: despite his alluding comments

I ‘met’ him at the Church of Rome a few days after he became Pope. He then said mass and I was able to receive Holy Communion, I was so ‘made up’ it’s difficult to describe. Those days have now long gone and now I’m divorced (my wife was adulterous for the second time) I cannot receive communion, the RC church has turned it’s back on me. I just hope that the new pope is able to ‘adjust’ things to take care of the this situation which sadly affects so many catholics through no fault of their own.

Wait till the white smoke emerges from the Vatican, then this record will be broken as yesterday’s record broke the last time white smoke emerged from the Vatican.

As long as you have not remarried without an annulment, you can still receive Communion. You are in no way in bad standing with the church because you are divorced, especially because your wife committed adultery.

Speak to a priest about starting an annulment investigation. If your wife committed adultery twice, there is a very good chance that she went in the marriage with no intention of being faithful and your marriage would be invalid.

The Church can never change this rule. Jesus made this rule very clear in Scripture and no Pope will make any changes to go around it. A valid can marriage can never be un-done. No matter who the Pope is.

Good luck to you.
