What a cynical and calloused statement. It is not a PR move for those who are free of the refugee camps. It is not an insignificant number for a place the size of Vatican City.

How can any Catholic call the charity of the Pope PR?
Typical of what I see on this forum anymore. Right-wing Catholics have nothing but criticism of Pope Francis.

What about the thousands who are left there; and what about the residents of Lesbos? Do you think the solution to this crisis is to allow all the refugees to enter Europe? How many refugees has your country taken in??

Pope Francis should consult with the Dalai Lama, who has said that the focus needs to be to end the violence in the Middle East and help people rebuild their country. This band aid solution of saving a few and letting the rest struggle as best they can, calls for a cynical response.

What about them? That is not the topic here. The idea that because one cannot do everything one should do nothing is absurd.

Nice, but you are hardly the first Catholic here who has been allured by Eastern mysticism. That’s fine. Perhaps there are some spiritual insights you can better gain from the Dali Lhama than the Holy Father.
