are you serious? i just cant imagine this to be true.

give them what they want. i thought this is what is killing the Faith of many.
 
I can’t stand rap as played on US radio. That said, I trust the Holy Father.

What does this have to do with liturgy? Is the Pope using the “rap song” (or hip-hop…or whatever) in the Mass? The article doesn’t state that…
 
I’m sorry, but I have to say I’m going :extrahappy::whacky::rotfl: over this.

It doesn’t make sense. But if (IF) it is true, I’m sure the Holy Father has his reasons.

Could be typical tabloid British anti-Catholic “satire.” Can anyone verify this???

that is very consoling to know that the somebody who plays Christian music dresses a little better than any one in public high school. i am very hopefull now.
it is sad, if this turns out to be true.
 
This is funny. I can’t imagine the Pope and hip-hop music together.

There’s going to be loads of performances at Hyde Park. It’s not a Mass. We’re arriving in London at 10am and we’ll be out the park by 7pm earliest I think. We will need variation!
 
Note that the choice was evidently not made by the Pope, as the headline claims, but by “The committee overseeing Pope Benedict’s itinerary”.

The same ones who have him saying Mass on the bridge of the starship Enterprise?

They’re either deliberately trying to make him look foolish, or they’re dangerously out of touch, or… what? I really don’t know.

Then again, the Vat2 crowd is still trying to bring in the youths with those hip and cool guitar folk songs from the Rainbow Family. So there’s a lot of “dangerously out of touch” still going around.

I find it funny how most people in this thread are calling the song bad simply because it’s Hip-Hop (not Gangster Rap, but new age Hip Hop). I guarantee most of you have never heard the song. Look it up on YouTube. It’s beautiful, and the video is nice.

Quit judging just because you see the words “rap song”. Talk about ignorance.

And if that girl is “exposing her body” in that picture (as opposed to, you know, wearing comfortable clothes), then what I see everyday outside my house must be similar to Adam and Eve when it comes to clothing fashion.

Maybe it’s not the Pope or those responsbile for the Pope’s visit to Britain who are out of touch. Could it be, perhaps, maybe, you, who is out of touch . . . ? Just saying . . . .🤷

You must not have been to a public school lately, or even a secular college campus. She’s not dressed just a little better, she’s dressed WAY better than most girls nowadays. There were times at West Virginia University that I should literally interpret Jesus’ statement about gouging my eyes out for my spirit’s sake. That said, her outfit is still somewhat immodest.

Music is not good or bad. It’s the content of the lyrics that make it good or bad. Demon Hunter would sound evil at first, but when you read the lyrics, you find a passion for following Christ. (I highly recommend Demon Hunter for those who like really hard metal, but can’t sit well with demonic lyrics)
