Has nobody watched the show 7th Heaven!! Seriously Hollywood nailed it. There are so many problems to being married, having a family, and being a minister. Snubbing family responsibilities to take care of the church and snubbing church responsibilities to take care of the family constantly. Why would the church want to bring on those problems.
 
Priests have never been “allowed to marry” even in the Churches that currently have married clergy.

For those Churches that have married clergy, it is married men who can be ordained, not ordained men who can marry.
Yes. In those jurisdictions in which it is allowed, married men can be ordained. But priests cannot marry. If a priest’s wife predeceases him, he cannot marry. If the Church imports this discipline to places like the Amazon region, married men who are ordained must understand and agree that once ordained, they cannot marry. And married priests can not become bishops, only celibate priests.
