Pope Emeritus Castel Gandolfo Earthquake?

The Italian peninsula and nearby islands are home to 13 volcanoes which have erupted during recorded history, three of which have erupted in the last 100 years. Consequently, minor earthquakes in Italy are about as un-newsworthy as minor earthquakes in southern California.

A bigger question is why Italy doesn’t have more earthquakes. Do you suppose that God is deliberately suppressing Italian volcanic activity precisely because the headquarters of His Holy Church is located there?

I take this as a divine “job well done” (also including the lighting strike on St Peter’s Basilica).

Perhaps it was everyone in the secular media banging their heads in frustration that the Pope has resigned and yet the Church still lives, and thrives, and continues the work of God in spite of everything they can do against it?
