Pope Francis has prayed for the intercession of “the pope of the family”, St John Paul II, whose optional memorial is on October 22, asking that the Synod of Bishops on the family “renew in the whole Church the meaning of the indisputable value of the indissoluble marriage and healthy families, based on the mutual love between a man and woman and divine grace.”
