They were shouted down if they tried. Because of the child abuse and especially with the appalling Tuam scandal so alive in memories, they had no say, no voice.
The ruling reasons for wanting abortion is CHOICE . They call it “personal autonomy” that they have evry right to do what they want with their bodies. AND they refuse to see an embryo as human. Just a clump of cells until after 12 weeks, No sentience, not a person. So so many seek “social abortions”. They are not by the way about to get it all their own way as we have laws to pass etc… This is not in any way a moral campaign and not one the church had any role in . They refuse to take responsibility for their own actions ie sex. Self rules
So many prayers are needed for Ireland…not to mention the rest of the world. It amazes me that God has been so patient in holding out hope that the unborn of His creation will somehow, some way, eventually be allowed to live as intended by Him. We must never give up on that goal, and I pray that Pope Francis doesn’t either, even if there are scandals overshadowing it.
