My heart sank as I saw Sophie Cruz go pass the barriers and was stopped by border patrols only to find Francis allowing immigration of her presence to the front ahead of others who ALSO HAD PETITIONS.

Then next in the news cast of the pope’s visit they said he negated church rules regarding Saint Serra only requiring one miracle.

America as well as other European nations can not handle all the world coming to their borders just because the grass looks greener. The immigrants need to fix their own dictators laws or police their government and police to weed out corruption.

We revolted against our dictator King George and kept our southern people from migrating to Mexico and flooding their country during the Civil War.

Pope Francis should be looking to help people in their own lands and not be forcing other countries to provide services just because American people put together a darn good constitution under Christian rules (unlike Muslim) and prospered. God Blessed America and now it’s time for other countries to earn God’s blessing by good principals of living and government responsibility.

He seemed to overlook the rule of law during his visit to Cuba, with his milquetoast treatment of the Castro brothers and his failure to vigorously call out the regime for its treatment of dissidents, and his failure to DEMAND, not only as a visiting head of state but as Christ’s Vicar on Earth that he be allowed unfettered access to dissidents, and that such dissidents must not be punished. There is a fine line between diplomacy and mushiness.

I think Pope Francis laid a quiet lesson for Raul when he gave him a text book from his former Jesuit teacher. His sermon was on Matthew the tax collector and even though Matthew was so hated for his activities he followed Jesus and the implication is that Raul should do likewise.

In Cuba Francis needs to be subtle but on the parade line Francis was in total charge. This was his example in America if you want something step up and take it. It’s the new America way.

When you’re dealing with a tyranny, subtlety has little effect. Tyrants only understand clear, direct, even harsh rhetoric. Subtlety is lost on them.

Papa Francis is, quite obviously, a student of recent history. IMHO, he watched the USSR slowly fail and crumble in the late eighties. The situation in Cuba is similar, even if they are not a world power. When the former USSR began letting its citizens travel and consumer goods and media were allowed in, the process of defeating USSR communism was set in motion. Cuba being open to tourism, importing consumer goods and the availability off the WWW will begin this same process. The Castro Bros are literally running out of time. I do understand that there’s are some who still adhere to the embargo solution, but, in reality, has this 55 year old rule, worked? In one short word, NO. I just have to agree with the Holy Father on this issue!

He’s the pope. He can do that. Other popes have done the same.

The rules for canonization are not part of Divine Revelation. And if the rules are not Divine Revelation, then someone has to have the authority to make, change, or suspend those rules as necessary. And who else would have that authority if not the pope?

Would negating the rule of church law for those waiting to be canonized saints be rather unfair in their eyes?

In future generations some will say Saint Serra must of had three miracles because that was the rule of church law.

I agree with you. No one is asking WHY everyone is fleeing their countries.

I don’t mind people coming here as long as they become productive citizens, but we don’t need any more freeloaders. I don’t think it’s fair that we should finance these people from birth to death while the rest of us work to support those able-bodied immigrants.

I was watching some of the coverage of the Pope’s visit on EWTN and the girl with the t-shirt and note was discussed and I think Robert Royal thought the White House may have been involved somehow.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a setup. Look, the little girl need not worry. Having been born of Mexican parents, the Mexican Constitution states that she is a Mexican citizen. I know this sounds harsh, but if her parents get deported, she will be free to go with them to Mexico. When she reaches the age 18 she can return here to the country of her birth and sponsor her parents and they can then come into the country legally.

Oh, I believe too the note she had was already prepared by her parents and she got a push out to deliver the message. I guess the pope just accepts these outburst or maybe he knew the girl was going to make a possible presentation.

Does the Vatican set these happening up along the route for opportunities that Pope Francis can make a social visual impact?

I think it’s all for the “awww!!” factor. Many buy into it especially since we now seem to be more fueled by emotions than ever.

Absolutely AGREED!

It absolutely was a set-up. Apparently there is a pro-open borders group behind this (sorry, can’t remember their name at the moment). Nothing like getting the kiddies involved in propaganda at an early age.

When I saw the story I wondered who sent her out and why. It feels like a push of an agenda and not spontaneous.

My heart sank again when more emphasis was placed on speaking of the death penalty, but the word abortion was not even spoken in the speech to congress. Did the Bishops not make him aware of the Planned Parenthood videos?
