Let’s hope and pray that the new processes don’t appear to be “catholic divorce” in practice. The procedures themselves are important, certainly, but the way they are put into practice is what ultimately makes a difference…
Just last night, I read an article in the National Catholic Register about this very subject…
and in fact, posted it here on another thread.
It sounds as thought the Holy Father’s comments on the plane could have
been in response to the goings-on at the Vatican as described in this article.
According to Die Zeit, the officials juridically “picked apart” the Pope’s motu proprio (papal decree) on annulment reform, accuse the Holy Father of giving up an important dogma, and assert that he has introduced de facto “Catholic divorce”.
