I imagine our Pope will at some point. Respect for life is just that, from conception to its natural end. I’m pretty sure he understands that. However, this thread is about Pope Francis’ statement on abortion.Human life is “sacred and inviolable” and “every civil law is based on the recognition of the first and most fundamental right, the right to life,” Pope Francis told an Italian pro-life organization today.
Good, now if he only would also say this about the starvation of innocent children!
Your tone seems to disrespect the Holy Father. I’m sure you do not intend to, but appearance is everything.Human life is “sacred and inviolable” and “every civil law is based on the recognition of the first and most fundamental right, the right to life,” Pope Francis told an Italian pro-life organization today.
Good, now if he only would also say this about the starvation of innocent children! Given his extreme concern for those living in poverty, hopefully he will in the near future!

Where have you folks been? He has spoken many times on the hungry; it’s his main message, the poor. The unborn are the most poor that a person could possibly be.I imagine our Pope will at some point. Sorry if I’ve caused you some confusion. Please rest assured that I am aware of the teachings of our Holy Father. Perhaps, in my attempt to keep the thread on track I made it seem that I was clueless about such things.Where have you folks been? “The Joy of the Gospel” would be a great place to start.
Are you advocating literal force of arms, an army?Of course it is an abominable crime, but until a very large group decides to take a much more proactive stance against it, nothing will change.
IMO, abortion is so bad, the church needs to form militias and literally fight to stop it, I know God would support this and it would definitely be a ‘just war’.
I think if 10s of 1000s or more armed militia showed to fight to stop abortion, the Govt would have no choice but to put a stop to it, it wont happen any other way, we have seen proof of this, in the many years since Roe/Wade, with everything the church has done to protest it…how close are they to stopping it now? Do they even have an estimate on when it will be stopped using current tactics/methods? I doubt it.
The church has used ‘soldiers’ or christian fighters many times thru out history, so not sure why they dont step up and use this method today, whats the difference?
There is a non-violent way to end abortion. If ALL Catholics would vote pro-life candidates into office, since they are a HUGE voting block, we could get it done. Its just that abortion is not a priority in voting to a majority of “Catholics”.Of course it is an abominable crime, but until a very large group decides to take a much more proactive stance against it, nothing will change.

And what chance does this have of actually taking place? There is a non-violent way to end abortion. If ALL Catholics would vote pro-life candidates into office, since they are a HUGE voting block, we could get it done. Its just that abortion is not a priority in voting to a majority of “Catholics”.
the Church does have a serious problemAnd what chance does this have of actually taking place?
If abortion is not a big priority for many catholics, then the church has a serious problem!
True. Another definition of INSANITY is when Catholic vote for the most pro-abortion rights president in history and expecting that will have a positive influence on the abortion problem. Perhaps we should also find some arsonists to run our fire departments…Im just saying you can only try one particular method for so long without it having any success, eventually its time to come up with something else, I mean, that is the whole point of trying to change something! lol
The literal definition of the word INSANITY is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
The children who are aborted are already in Heaven with God. It’s the souls of the women and the people who enabled the abortion whose souls are in jeopardy. We will see the children again in Heaven, but will we see the parents? Will we take up arms to “put down” pro-abortion brothers/sisters before they have a chance to repent? Is this how Christ would want us to imitate him?Of course it is an abominable crime, but until a very large group decides to take a much more proactive stance against it, nothing will change.

The CC used to have the Crusaders…maybe they should start up this regiment again today…I think it would be a welcome addition to the church. The children who are aborted are already in Heaven with God. Our job as little Christs is to help our brothers/sisters repent before it is too late.
The Pope has brought considerable visibility to the needs of the poor. :yup:Human life is “sacred and inviolable” and “every civil law is based on the recognition of the first and most fundamental right, the right to life,” Pope Francis told an Italian pro-life organization today.
