The ISIS Jihadistis are really brave when it comes to fighting unarmed children, but like most cowardly terrorists they will run like little schoolgirls when it comes to a stand up fight with someone that can fight back. ( No offense to little schoolgirls…in reality most of them are more courageous that the ISIS cowards.)
Actually, the most cowardly people in all this is the Iraqi Army that the United States trained and armed. They threw down their weapons and fled at the first sign of a fight. Seems that part of the world has more than it’s share of cowardice…

I, for one, would like to see this prayer after each and every Mass.

“O Glorious Prince of the heavenly host, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and in the terrible warfare that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil spirits. Come to the aid of man, whom Almighty God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of Satan.

“Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there place for them any longer in Heaven. That cruel, ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels. Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the crown of eternal glory. This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity.

“These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where the See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be.

“Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them the victory. They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious power of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly find mercy in the sight of the Lord; and vanquishing the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations. Amen.
V. Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.
R. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered the root of David.
V. Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.
R. As we have hoped in Thee.
V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us pray.
O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy holy Name, and as supplicants, we implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin Immaculate and our Mother, and of the glorious St. Michael the Archangel, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all the other unclean spirits who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of souls. Amen.”

NOT the short version, but this one.

Ss Nunlio and Alodia pray for us!

(and if you don’t recognize them, look them up)

There’s more…but for right now, that would be a good start.
I like that, but it might take longer than Mass. :signofcross:

If one researches the Crusades with an open mind and heart, one sees that the Catholic Church did not do anything wrong with the war. Although a lot of Protestants use the crusades as an excuse, I think with what Muslim extremists have done recently now people can say, I see why the church did what it did.
I wish we could bring back our brave Crusaders, the Protestants use everything as an excuse, except when it comes to themselves and all the wrongs that they do, a case of seeing the splinter in there brother Catholic’s eye , but not the plank in there own.

So much from the Religion of Peace, a Religion of Evil who carry out this carry on of beheading when your not a Sunni- the Devil is lurking.

This is bad, I’d not forget wars have occurred in Congo that has killed thousands, it’s no excuse though. Let’s also not forget the Syrian regime may well be gassing the rebels. All of this said, these images are straight from the depths of hell. Though south of our border, there have been many beheadings in those wars.

This is probably a bit like the Japanese rape of Nanking China.

I think we can all see, Islam has largely spread itself through the sword in history, not always but probably most of the time. That’s one of its symbols, swords.

Egypt was smart enough to throw the radicals out.

God Help Us!

Make no mistake, we in the west are next. Better to confront them now than later.
Totally agree, Ive often said its just a matter of time before christians are publicly tortured and/or killed right here in the US, probably in front of crowds, just like they did in the old days, to scare the public into submission, although I would bet when it starts, the media probably wont be allowed to even mention it!

The bible even tells us christians will have to go thru some very rough times before it gets better, says they will be jailed, tortured and killed if they refuse to deny their faith…this scares me, I fear alot of americans dont have the ‘stomach’ for this kind of devotion.

It would be a start just for the USA and really NATO to GET INVOLVED in these troubled areas in good, moral ways.

We don’t (and probably shouldn’t in most cases) go in with guns blazing, but we can provide humanitarian relief (private charities should be given chances here) and support like negotiations or if necessary (and moral) military hardware.
Amen. I’m ok with airstrikes as needed too. If we have the capacity to help neutralize the aggressors, let’s do it.

Note that some of the pictures used in the article are fake and at least some have misleading captions.

I tried to post a comment under the article in question, but they didn’t allow the comment to be published. That indicates they are not merely ignorant but outright dishonest.

I sought to investigate the source of only the two most gruesome images on the page. One of them (the bloody picture of a woman being executed like a pig) is from an old internet story about woman-eating Chinese villagers that apparently gained some attention in Taiwan some years ago. The story appears to have been a hoax with photoshopped pictures of what actually was a slaughter of pigs. The picture has absolutely nothing to do with Iraq or Syria or Islamic fanatics.

Secondly, the picture of the little girl’s headless body. That is from Syria and happened in 2012, but according to one Christian Syrian woman elsewhere on the internet, the girl was not Christian. Secondly, even based on the picture it seems very unlikely that she would have been executed by a knife or a sword as the cut seems to be quite low. She was more likely beheaded by shrapnel from a bomb, and judging by the appearance of the men in the other picture of her, it was probably a bombing by the Syrian army. She is listed as Fatima Meghlaj on a Syrian martyrs site. One hate blog refuted that she is Fatima Meghlaj by vaguely plausible arguments that frankly reminded me of the argumentation of truther types. Although it is impossible to tell if she really was Fatima Meghlaj or not, I must point out that the same hate blog (that I won’t mention by name) recently posted a made-up story of an Islamic State member marrying a little crying girl, so I wouldn’t believe anything that blog says without sourcing the information.

In any case, I was quite taken aback that catholic.org would refuse to publish a comment that politely pointed out inaccuracies in the pictures and captions. You can easily find the Chinese hoax story by a google search. What the Islamic State is doing is horrific enough on its own, so there should be no need to fabricate anything.

Shocked by such unethicalness, I started to look into who owns catholic.org, and here’s an interesting article that tells you one story about the site owner. The Catholic Culture’s review of the site also mentions, among other things, that catholic.org has “repeatedly taken materials developed by others and posted them as its own”.

So buyer beware, I guess. Personally I prefer and insist upon factual reporting.

I keep praying with my husband. I am sick and I am scared. Our leader doesn’t seem to care, we released the leader of ISIS from GITMO and now look, they control 2/3rd of Iraq.

I am afraid for my daughter’s future she’s 2. I hug her closer at night. I am not sure I even want to bring in more children in this world. My family are Christian Arabs and my husband (who isn’t arab) is military we all live here in America. My father is also retired US military who has seen many of these horrific images being deployed and as a little boy in Jordan when Muslims ruled back in the day. God forbid I was ever challenged by these people, I don’t know what I would do, probably anything to stay alive for my daughter, God forgive me. I can’t believe they’re making the innocent convert and then killing them after they renounce Jesus. Deep down I think Jesus knows whats in their hearts. I continue to also pray for their souls.

I agree…I think alot of people forget that even God himself said SOME wars/battles ARE JUST in his opinion, so its clear in SOME cases, violence and war is justified, but I tend to think this would be reserved for the extremely serious situations, like whats going on here, abortion, genocide, etc.

Im curious of those that disagree though, do you think prayer and faith alone would have been enough for…say, the founding fathers to win the war with England when the US was formed? or if the crusaders would have put down their spears and other weapons and relied SOLELY on prayer and faith…do you think they would have been successful?

Has CAIR condemned these atrocities? Or any moderate muslims?

From Pope Francis on Twitter just now

An appeal to all families: when you say your prayers, remember all those forced from their homes in Iraq. #PrayForPeace

I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
APOCALYPSE 20:4

“God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.”

FATIMA IN LUCIA’S OWN WORDS, Sr. Lucia’s memoir, shows the “only” means to a period of peace is the consecration of Russia by the Pope, in union and at the same time as all Bishops in their respective cathedrals, solemnly and publicly, for the conversion of Russia. Those five million Muslims in Russia would keep the peace once converted by the Immaculate Heart. THERE IS NO OTHER SOLUTION!

We as a nation freaked out and went nuts when we learned that Al Qaeda had posted videos of beheadings of Americans. Al Qaeda disavowed this group for being too extreme. Too extreme even for Al Qaeda? WAKE UP, WORLD!

Where’s the outrage on this mass slaughter???

**Have we no mercy for the innocent? **

The only way the innocent get mercy in this situation is if you STOP THE AGGRESSORS. And the only way to do that with people this monstrous and extreme is to use lethal force–as quickly and as decisively as possible.

The Taliban was not this extreme. Saddam Hussein was not this extreme. Even HITLER was not this extreme.

If there ever was a just war, THIS IS IT. The full force of the US and all of its allies should be brought to bear in destruction of ISIS. If we do not now, we will only have to do it later and then it will be much harder, and after much more misery. The only way to limit this evil is to destroy it. We either cut out the cancer, amputate the limb, quarantine the disease, or we let it take over and threaten the whole body, let it spread to others.

I totally agree. I do believe that we have people who are willing to fight the good cause, but we are so selfish, we think, you know it’s on the other side of the world. Were ok.

But as my post and yours state, Protestants who use the crusades as an excuse about Catholicism, are just plain ignorant. If the video we see of the people fleeing, or the people being shot point blank does not cause you to be squeamish, I don’t know what God that person believes in.
