Pope Francis has sent a message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development”, urging protection for tens of thousands of unaccompanied children who are migrating North from Central America and Mexico in increasing numbers.

The best way we can help these children would be to put them on a plane to Rome where I am sure they will be treated well.
It is horrible that these kids are encouraged’manipulated to leave their homes and risk their lives.
Sounds like the solution is for Mexico to help these children return to their homes/families instead of risking their lives.

I believe this whole mess meets my definition of a dilemma. In my opinion a dilemma is when one looks at all options and ain’t none of them a good.

I don’t know what a good solution to this situation is. On the one and we have to show compassion for the children, on the other hand if we allow them to stay it encourages even more children to come.

A public service cartoon advertisement to discourage immigration might be taken lightly or thought to be ineffective by many. Still, it’s contents to me speaks volumes.
** El Salvador’s Coyote Cartoon Seeks to Slow Child Migrants **
The public service cartoon looks like a scene from a kids’ fairytale. The target is El Salvadoran parents seeking to send their children north with smugglers promising to get them to a better life in the U.S.
A father answering the phone at home is told by a “coyote,” a slang term for human smugglers, that his children will be safe with him. The children are then led through the dark woods by a sinister-looking jackal.
“It was all a lie,” a girl’s voice says. “We spent days without eating. They touched me,” she adds, while a boy says he was “sold with other people, forced to work and mistreated.” Another girl says she was abandoned in the desert.

Matthew 25:41-46 is crystal clear that we need to care for these kids.
Our LORD is quite clear on our fate if we do not…

Matthew 25:41-46

[41] Then he shall say to them also that shall be on his left hand: Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels. [42] For I was hungry, and you gave me not to eat: I was thirsty, and you gave me not to drink. [43] I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you covered me not: sick and in prison, and you did not visit me. [44] Then they also shall answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee?

[45] Then he shall answer them, saying: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me.

[46] And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting.

'Nuff said.

** That fits a lot of Americans too. **

America is one of the most charitable nations on earth. I’d wonder what the world would be like without the Americans being first to rush in when some country is hit with an earthquake.

Actually, my post is to Americans. In particular those jerks protesting buses filled with innocent kids whom Christ COMMANDS we help. How anyone can do that is sickening.

The problem comes in when so many gang members are coming in who have records of murder and other crimes in the country they have left. They are harming the children who are coming here with them.

Also, the countries they are leaving do not have a crime or war problem worse than our country. Look at Chicago. They are coming here with the thought that they will be able to stay. That is what they have been told. the drug cartels (coyotes) are making money off them for escorting them here.

None of this should have been encouraged like our current administration did,

Thank you for posting. I hope Pope Francis’ message is not dismissed or ignored because of political posturing, fear tactics or other excuses.
Let’s just say that the Mexicans treat their borders MUCH different than the Americans and leave it at that.

They’ll drop the hammer on anyone and everyone.

Catholic Charities is on the front lines and Glenn Beck’s Mercury One is on the move. State governors like Rick Perry and John Heineman (NE) are stepping up.

These kids won’t be getting much from the United States federal government or professional protesters, I assure folks.

I hardly think so.

The Administration (if they are behind this mess) have set it up perfectly for the American left to make these kinds of arguments.

Otherwise, the quotes from Matthew do not even begin to describe the situation regarding the issue of scandal, which can also be a mortal sin.

If my wife and I wanted to adopt some of these children, what are the chances that 6 months, 1 year, 2 years from when we adopt them, that their parents show up and want their kids back?

I don’t know unless maybe Beck is on the move to feed the poor migrants. That would be better than when Sean Hannity and Rick Perry joined forces showing up at the border with their guns.

Well I am no fan of Beck but if he is actually giving charity than that is a good thing.
