Pope Francis Compares Aborting Babies with Disabilities to Nazi Eugenics

In a powerful address Saturday, Pope Francis said that prenatal testing to determine the presence of abnormalities for the purpose of abortion mirrors the Nazi practice of eugenic screening and ethnic cleansing.

Speaking to a delegation of the Forum of Family Associations at the Vatican, Francis reaffirmed the nature of marriage as the complementary union of one man and one woman, while decrying today’s abortion culture.

The pope set his prepared text aside to speak off the cuff to the group, urging everyone to help society regain respect for the value of every child and the plan of God for families.

“Children are to be received as they come, as God sends them,” he said. “I have heard that it is typical during the first months of pregnancy to do tests on the baby and if the child is not well or has something wrong we do away with it. Just to keep life peaceful, an innocent child is killed.”

“We do as the Nazis did to safeguard the purity of the race, but we do it with ‘white gloves,’” he said.

The Nazi party began its eugenics program in 1933, requiring German doctors to register all genetically related illnesses with the state . . . .

Ive been saying this for years. We are always so ready to dump on past evil, yet how are we any better? I think we like to absolve ourselves of all kinds of things. We do it every day don’t we? We say to ourselves, “I’m not as bad as my brother”.
 
Concerning these dead aborted babies that are so often ignored by society . . . .
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord.
And let the perpetual light shine upon them.

And may the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

😇 - so … the Pope IS Catholic after all … per Traditional Families … and abortion. This will surprise some and displease others.

Not me though.

I AM surprised that such got reported, in a way. A Pope saying non-Pope like things (or seeming to enough to justify a sensational headline) will always be more NEWSworthy than … the Pope urged people (to be common sense moral … unto being holier all the time).

Hoping for this kind of a paragraph on Religious Freedom (up to and including China) from Francis. If he’s said something like that already PLEASE post it.

The latest news makes it look like he is going to legitimize the Chinese Communist State created “Catholic Church” that is not in communion with the Vatican, nor accedes to its authority (whereas there ARE legitimate Catholic Churches in China … even if they are in hiding now).

Wonder how it really is.
