With Christ and Mary, we abide in God. Indeed, “if we want to be Christian, we must be Marian; in a word, we have to acknowledge the essential, vital and providential relationship uniting Our Lady to Jesus, a relationship that opens before us the way leading to him” (PAUL VI, Address at the Shine of Our Lady of Bonaria, Cagliari, 24 April 1970). Each time we recite the rosary, in this holy place or anywhere else, the Gospel enters anew into the life of individuals, families, peoples and the entire world.

Lol, here he goes again twisting/changing words to fit his agenda.
“I feel that Jesus has entrusted you to me (cf. Jn 21:15-17), and I embrace all of you and commend you to Jesus, “especially those most in need” – as Our Lady taught us to pray (Apparition of July, 1917). May she, the loving and solicitous Mother of the needy, obtain for them the Lord’s blessing! On each of the destitute and outcast robbed of the present, on each of the excluded and abandoned denied a future, on each of the orphans and victims of injustice refused a past, may there descend the blessing of God, incarnate in Jesus Christ.”
Pope Francis
In this case, connecting social justice to this prayer which has to do with sin, not poverty or worldly matters, “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of your mercy.”
The Virgin Mary of the Gospel, venerated by the Church at prayer, or a Mary of our own making: one who restrains the arm of a vengeful God; one sweeter than Jesus the ruthless judge; one more merciful than the Lamb slain for us?"
Pope Francis
“Our Lady can no longer hold back the arm of her beloved Son from the world. It is necessary to do penance. If people change their ways, Our Lord will still spare the world; but if they do not, the chastisement will come.”

St. Jacinta of Fatima

“After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: ‘Penance, Penance, Penance!’”

Stop pope bashing!

And yes, how do we know if Our Lady is restraining the arm of justice or not.

Did you see this he full stop after , and then before ?

Wonderful acclamation of faith, by Pope Francis.

Many protestants won’t like this declaration by Pope Francis.

Mary has not been a stumbling block for me. I just spoke with a woman last night who entered the Church 5 years before me, and she admitted she won’t attend any event having to do with Mary and she doesn’t and will never pray the Rosary. She is 20 years
older than me and was probably in her 70’s when she joined the Catholic Church. Her son is a deacon and admits she will never learn to think Catholic.

I love Mary and the Rosary. But I can see how many Christian protestants will find this
statement hard to take seriously. I assume Pope Francis was speaking to all Christians, not just Catholics.

It would seem that your friend has remained a Protestant in her core, and is only a nominal Catholic. I guess freedom of religion includes the right to be confused.

I sometimes wonder why she remains Catholic, but she says she likes the Mass. I haven’t asked her thoughts on transubstantiation (I don’t think I spelled that right).
Her mother was Seventh Day Adventist and my friend blames the Catholic church for changing the Sabbath. I would agree that she still
has a fairly strong Protestant core. She admitted if she had taken the same RCIA class her son and daughter-in-law had she probably would not have joined the Catholic church. They were taught what they needed to believe in to be Catholic. She said her RCIA classes did not teach any of that. Maybe she just doesn’t remember because you have to make your statement before being received into the Church.
