Pope Francis: It's "Terrible" Children Taught They Can Choose Gender

It’s all just too weird for me. I’m awfully glad I don’t have children. I wouldn’t, really, in this crummy day and age. They can just have their crazy world. I think they’re just so far gone with all of this that they’ve really gone off the deep end. They want some weird, “genderless” society, where there is no male or female anymore. Strange. And, yes, he’s dead right on this. It is totally going against what is natural.

Notice how all the Pope haters are silent when they agree with him?

Clare,
I hope you don’t mean you think I’m a “Pope hater”? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not sarcastically asking you this, I just truly don’t know what you mean. I’ve always enjoyed your posts, and your words have often echoed my own. I know I come across as strong and harsh, but things like this just get me so mad. Especially when it involves the neverending corruption of small children. They have no right at all to rob them of a chance at a normal, healthy life, and filling them up with this garbage is destroying them from the inside out. The Pope was very, VERY right to condemn this.

Heh. Before I saw your comment I was gonna say, I wonder how long this thread can go before turning into a “Can you believe how liberal the Pope is?” thread. 😃

No, I wasn’t talking about you.
I’m just amazed that all the people who are on other threads bashing the Pope say that he can’t speak well, and he says terrible things, are pretty much silent now.
Oh, so I guess he DOES have some merit.
If my post was directed at you I would have quoted you.

Amen! I’m getting pretty sick of people disrespecting the Pope. Particularly the people that often crow obedience.
God bless you, I’ve always enjoyed your posts.

If by disrespect you mean simply disagreeing, then I’m gonna have to say you’re wrong.

He’s right, it is terrible. Confusing children is not the right approach to education.

Could not agree more. But then again, so often Pope Francis is absolutely inspiring and ‘dead on’.

I wonder if it is possible that people respond more when they are confused over the words of Pope Francis precisely because so much of the time he is so wonderful and direct like this, tso hat when he 'isn’t, it is more confusing?

also let’s face it. Most of us don’t have time to put little ‘thumbs’ up’ or ‘I agree’ on say 1000 threads about Pope Francis saying Catholic stuff :D. I mean, we’re Catholic, we usually DO agree with Catholic teachings.

BUT again, if we are ‘brought up short’ by confusion in a thread about words from somebody who 99% of the time is understandable and ‘great’, then that is when we are going to say, “wait, what?”

With all do respect, when you say you "wouldn’t " have children because we live in what might be called the “Age of Sin”, I must ask you: Where is your hope?

Would you have refrained from having children during times of famine, plague, wars? We must always keep trust with God, and have sublime hope regardless of the times we inhabit.

I have children, and it is indeed a genuine challenge raising them in the faith. But, we do it. Even though palpable forces of true darkness oppose our doing so…we do it. As a Catholic, which I embrace as my identity, I am viewed by the larger society as being a member of a counter-cultural entity that must be pushed into the shadows. So, what am I to do? Fight the good fight, that’s what.

Children are God’s blessing upon us at any time in history, regardless of that time’s darkness. My kids are like answered prayers for me, and I state: “As for me and mine, we shall put ourselves upon the the Lord…our God”

Yes, teaching this to kids is child abuse that’ll mess them up.
