Love it! Just one comment on the article - it would have been hot water in the thermos - you donā€™t pour mate into a mate cup - the herbs are already in there. šŸ˜‰
 
Itā€™s Palm Sunday. Jesus rode into town with people waving Palms at Him and crowding around Him.
He was probably smiling.
Give Francis a break. Heā€™s not a smug cleric. Heā€™s a real man. Genuine. Happy in his vocation. Give thanks.

Yes, I can see how this follows the example of Jesus.
And after Palm Sunday came Good Friday ā€¦
crowds can be fickle.
May we continue to stand with Pope Francis in good times and bad.

šŸ‘ I find it nice to see how happy he looks in his vocation also. If Jesus wasnā€™t friendly, smiling, & approachable then I donā€™t think the tax collectors and other ā€œsinnersā€ would ever have invited Him to their parties or cared to have him around. I personally like it how Pope Francis doesnā€™t try to be super dignified every second that he is with the public. It reminds me of the scene in the movie the Passion when Jesus splashed Mary with the water. I like to see these types of moments of humanity.

I for one think itā€™s good he shows his joy and his adeptness for reaching out to people. Iā€™m sure the people saying Francis shouldnā€™t take Selfies are probably the same people who 20 years ago would have not liked JP2 having World Youth Day and how itā€™s not in line with tradition or what have you. There is nothing in tradition that says the Pope cannot have joy.

Good point.
We should all pray for the priests and staff of our parishes as they make the preparations for the Triduum. Itā€™s a glorious and holy timeā€¦but so so exhausting.
May God give them strength, stamina, good judgment, and peace.

The headlines had me thinking that the Pope was taking HIS OWN selfie. That would have been very odd.

Wasnā€™t JPII also very crowd friendly until he got shot?
