“The synod journey culminates in listening to the Bishop of Rome, (who is) called to speak authoritatively as ‘the Pastor and Teacher of all Christians,’” Pope Francis stated on October 17, on the eve of the final week of the synod on the family.

Looks like Pope Francis will come out with a Papal Exhortation sometime after the synod after all.
If and when he speaks the Orthodox faith.

If and when he speaks the Orthodox faith.
Not the Eastern Orthodox faith though.

When he speaks the orthodox faith of the Catholic Church. He is the supreme head of the Church on earth authoritatively by holding the place of peter and being the source of sacerdotal unity in the Church. Where peter is there is the church and those outside that bond of union are objectively schismatics and/or heretics

Just to clarify: there’s never been any doubt the Papal Exhortation.

What has been controversial is that there may not be a final document at the Synod voted on by the Synod Fathers.

These are two different things. There is no question of the Papal Exhortation …

It has been announced that there will be a final report and the bishops will vote on each paragraph separately.

Whether it will be made public is up to the Holy Father but it is thought it will be published.

Pope Francis, by calling for the extraordinary session of the synod, has intentionally reopened discussion of issues that for some time have been closed to discussion and as a result reduced to legalism. The Church is in crisis, and I see the process as an attempt to shift the focus to spirituality.
