Francis will also gather the world’s cardinals in February to hear about progress in curial reform

Pope Francis will create new cardinals on February 14, following a two-day meeting of the world’s cardinals that will discuss reform of the Vatican bureaucracy, among other issues.

Making the announcement today, Vatican spokesman Fr Federico Lombardi said the names of the new cardinals were likely to be announced in mid-January.

Me too. He’s been selected to represent the US at the upcoming Synod, so maybe that will help his chances a little
