That makes me sad.I always wanted to visit Ireland. But that’s when I suffered under the illusion that it was a Catholic country. I have been very disappointed by the direction the country has taken and the general loss of its Catholic identity. I will not visit it in my lifetime.
There are varied and interesting attitudes. We shall see.We have wanted to visit Ireland for years, but something always sets us back. The last few years, it’s been that my husband cannot travel outside of the country without coverage (he’s a family doctor). Finally, another doc will be joining his clinic, so we are hoping to go in 2018. But not when Pope Francis is there.
I hope you enjoy his visit as much as we enjoyed his visit to the US. I am still shocked that Pope Francis addressed Congress. That was a amazing considering the history our nation has regarding Catholicism.
