For those of us who aren’t part of the intellectual elite this is very encouraging! 😃
 
I learned street witnessing from a Charismatic Christian group. They are out there, some daily, and they take what time they can to engage people about God. It doesn’t involve force, it doesn’t involve long speeches, unless requested, but if we remain invisible to the world then people will just drive by a Church building and not see any connection between what goes on there and their own daily lives.

We should go out in small groups, as Jesus sent His disciples, and proclaim Christ. By the grace of God, I tell that person on the street corner: “Remember, God cares about you.” When we are silent or silenced or even criticized by the media, forget about the internet or the TV. Meet real people who are homeless, offer what kindness you can and remind them about God. I remember carrying in bags of canned goods to one of the homeless shelters in downtown Detroit with two friends. I have a friend who passes out religious tracts daily.

Sure, some of us can’t do it every day, maybe once a week… but something.

A term is being coined for those very politically correct parishes (that would be the one I attend) which do not want to rock the boat. They are called “The Church of Nice” and are very worried about how the flock “feels” about church teaching. :rolleyes:

We can also evangelize in a less direct way by having a Catholic Radio bumper sticker (magnet) on our car or by wearing Catholic apparel.
 
I just laughed our really, really loud. Lord, you know I’m loving this Pope more everyday. Please give him the strength to be as ‘annoying’ as you need him to be…for all our sakes.

Be careful for what you wish for!! How would you feel if he told the American Bishops to deny communion to Pro-Abortion Catholic politicians?

He would be squarely within his rights as il Papa! 🙂 Furthermore, he would be annoying more people, which, when you’re doing God’s work, is a sign of much progress.
 
How many times have we claimed to be Christians but with a “Disclaimer”. This is one reason I shunned the Catholic church for years. It seemed to me that the misinformation I was hearing must be true. Gladly I found EWTN and Catholics that actually know and understand the faith. We need to wear it as a badge of honor and embrace the ridicule and personal attacks which is nothing compared to those, right now, that are imprisoned and killed just because they might believe.

Glad to hear that. Yes he would and perhaps Chris Matthews would finally be fired as while I never watch the loon, I know he would create his own Inquisition against the Pope on this issue!!
