*VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis has given a 17-year-old boy with Down Syndrome the ride of his life — sort of.

Francis invited Alberto di Tullio up onto his open-top Mercedes at the end of his general audience Wednesday, letting him spin around on the pontiff’s white chair while tens of thousands of people looked on.*

Thank you for sharing this. What a great man to do such a thing.

Great story, Pope Francis has continued to show his humility. i hope his humility is able to touch alot of ppl, and help ppl see the Truth of the Catholic Church

The big impact this Pope is having in my life is examples like this. Spontaneously acting out of love and charity - not carelessly or thoughtlessly - but without the kind of "planning for all possible outcomes and circumstances, while lining up all needed supplies and back-up, and not going through with it if anything is iffy, kind of mindset that plagues me. :o

I tend to always want to figure out what effect my actions/decisions may have on everyone even remotely involved - which is okay to one extent, but utterly paralyzing in another sense because the underlying basis is fear - fear of making a mistake, fear of things not going perfectly, fear someone will not approve, fear I haven’t thought of all the possibilities.

Yep, Pope Francis, through his actions and words, is really encouraging me to go forth and fear not 🙂 May God bless him!!!

Good grief, that video made me tear up too! God bless our Francis!

Brilliant man. I have never seen anyone like Pope Francis in my life

Seriously, what’s up with the Church and always having these awesome popes!?

Praise Pope Francis! Such polar opposites this week, you have this, the Pope treating this boy with such dignity and kindness OR you have Bill Maher attacking Sarah Palin’s son on the View and calling him “retarded”.

I love Pope Francis, but I think he would be disappointed if this episode just caused people to tear-up. He seems to be also saying by his actions, “now go and do likewise”.
