There are those who deliberately try to antagonize on internet forums. In fact they’re numerous enough that they’ve been given a name…Trolls.

It’s best to ignore them, as paying any attention to them at all gives them more power than they deserve.

Turning them in to the moderator is an option that may help.

You are welcome here!

Thanks, TZiggy! 🙂 I did report him to the moderators earlier. Hopefully something will be done. It’s really sad that there are so many antagonistic people on here that they’ve been given a name. He’s definitely a Troll. Maybe I should just put him on ignore.

Ahhh, you miss the point. Trolls don’t just frequent our forum. They “Troll” the internet, trying to wreak havoc wherever they decide to light.

I’d say your recent conversion has rattled ole red legs and he’s trying to discourage you. Take heart, you must be on the right path!

Oh, ok, I get it now. Thanks. Yes, I agree with you. Satan has been working overtime. I’m getting it from all sides!

If he continually does this to you, I definitely recommend the ignore feature. It allows me not to fall into sin with nasty thoughts about even nastier people.

I think he was calling you infantile. You are infantile. Apparently he hasn’t heard that the only stupid question is one that hasn’t been asked. And is so good at moving around on the web he cannot understand others who are unable to locate answers to quetions without help.

Be at peace and use the ignore feature!

God Bless,
Maria

Thanks, the ignore feature looks better and better. And of course I’m infantile. I’ve been a Christian for less than a month and haven’t even been baptized yet. A good Christian would help a new convert, not condemn him. Too bad he doesn’t reralize that. It’s sad.

It is seriously too bad he doesn’t wish to help a new convert. His loss. But…

Congratulations!!! How long before you get to be baptized? Do you have to wait until next Easter?

God Bless,
Maria

Yes, I have to wait until next Easter, because I have to go through the official RCIA classes first. My RCIA intructor is meeting with me one on one right now, and she’s just covering simple, basic topics about Christianity in general and incorporating Catholic teachings. Last week we covered salvation, specifically what it means to be saved, how we get salvation, and why we need to be saved.

I still have to join the official RCIA class this fall and take instruction alongside all the other converts, too. After that, I can be baptized and confirmed.

By the way, I’ve already received a sacrament. I’ve been to confession once. My RCIA instructor documented the date. She was excited. 🙂

Here is an article at The Catholic Encyclopedia that explains its history.

Popess Joan
Thank you for the link. I printed it out so I can show my choir director tomorrow. I don’t want her believing something that’s false. 🙂

Jew_man 73,

I am so happy for you and welcome you cheerfully. I have always said that I deeply admire converts to the Catholic Faith because it is a journey leaving their comfort zone and going to where their heart and Holy Spirit leads them. You can walk in knowing that it is Jesus Christ Our Lord who is calling you.

Keep learning and keep sharing with us. I am a lifelong Catholic and I love hearing the new experiences that those in the RCIA program have.

In the Holy Name of Jesus, I am faithfully,
Keyenta

Congratulations on your conversion!!
It wasn’t too long ago I was thinking that for a “jew-man” you sounded an awful lot like a christian. 🙂

Thank you! This forum has been a good learning experience for me, and has been largely positive. I’m entering Catholicism from Reform Judaism. Imagine what a leap that is! G-d bless!

Thank you! 🙂 Talking things out on the forums here has made things a bit easier for me, thank G-d!

Praise God!!! You have found the fulfillment of your faith. I cannot tell you how excited I am for you!!! We gentiles have been grafted in to the covenant…the new and everlasting covenant. I feel such a kinship with jews. The Eucharist is the most beautiful gift you will receive from Our Lord and He will draw you closer to Him through His sacrifice of the mass. I always think heaven celebrates a bit more when a jew comes home!

Thank you! I appreciate your words! I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: I feel so honored that the Messiah was a Jew, born to a Jewish Virgin who is so Blessed and honored by people all over the world! And the fact that he came to the world for everyone is an even bigger honor! It’s humbling too.

Shalom Ha Moshiach! 🙂

Hello, JM…👋
I have a;) " reading assignment"…Psalm 8…OK, back? Ah, tis no wonder that God chose:yup: the Jews…

God bless.

I don’t know your story (although I’d love to hear it) but I can appreciate how difficult this leap must have been. I married a reform jew. We were married by a rabbi. I returned to my faith after not living it for most of my life, a year ago. Many masses, rosaries, and sufferings have been offered up for his conversion. I know it will happen but I will not be his wife then. He left me a month ago…partly because I’m “brainwashed” with my faith. I’m not telling you this for an “I’m sorry to hear that” response. More so to let you how thankful I am that you have found the Truth…and yes, the Truth is a jew!

Wow. Thank you for sharing your story, I appreciate it very much. I’m thankful that you returned to your faith and I pray that he finds faith in the true Messiah as well. I will be praying that G-d comforts you and heals you. G-d bless!
